This was a good reverse harem, but I'm partial to the paranormal ones. I gave a contemporary a try because it was marketed as a rom com. But it was felt too serious with too many feels to be my type of rom com... that said, it's probably still a 3.5.

Give it a try if you're a fan of friends-to-lovers and why choose with a side of age-gap.

I love Avery Flynn. I love the marriages of convenience and fake-anything trope. Mansplainer was a great conclusion to the Last Man Standing trilogy. Nash falls for Chelle so quickly it's almost an insta-love scenario. But I think he was just attracted to her right away and once he got to know her, he fell for her. So it didn't really feel unbelievable, just quick. Chelle has some self-esteem issues that make her feel like she's not good enough for Nash, but she overcomes them by the end of the book (of course, she has to for their HEA). And the little bits we get of the rest of the family are just as fun as they were in the first two books. I would LOVE to see what's in store for the younger Beckett's!

This was another romcom with the miscommunication as the main plot point, and I just have a hard time with that. These two were best friends for years, but when they finally start to realize they've developed actual romantic feelings for the other, even after several instances of physical expression, they STILL think the other couldn't possibly be interested and run away rather than express how they feel. And Lyric continued to push Kian to Zoe, even after they both showed a lack of interest. There's something about the "I can't see past my own nose" that just really bothers me in a romance.

Overall, there was less "sizzle" than I had hoped.

This was a great dark twist on the Cinderella fairy tale. If you're curious as to what a dark Prince Charming and an evil Cinderella would be like, check this one out. It's a great short novella, easy to binge for a readathon or just to get through in one sitting. I'll definitely be continuing the rest of the series to see where the author takes all of our favorite fairy tale characters!

I loved the first book in this series SO MUCH! And even had the opportunity to chat with Dana for our book club - Love her! The sequel was really good as well, and I loved so much about it. The writing flows wonderfully, the story is one where you just don't want to put it down. And watching Adraa learn so much about herself and her magic was amazing!

I missed the Adraa and Jatin chemistry for the majority of the book though. I wish they had been on page together more often, as that was such a big part of the reason I enjoyed the first book so much. They were just amazing together!

I also felt like the ending was left wide open. I'm not sure if this was intentional, to allow room for this to become more than a duology? Please say yes, because I feel a bit more unfulfilled than I would like at the end!

Overall, this was a solid 4 star read. The only complaints I have are for my own selfish desires, and I'm not unhappy, just wishing I had more!

I really enjoyed this novella and the audiobook was really a great listen, too. There's so much about Hannah and Ian that gave me lots of feels, and I loved their friendship and romance over the better part of a decade. Ian is now on my list of favorite book boyfriends!

I really loved getting the stories from all three friends and especially loved the conclusion to all in this book.

I haven't yet read a book by Avery Flynn or Tracy Woff that i didn't thoroughly enjoy. Back in the Burbs is no exception... I adored this book and finished it in a day. From the banter between Mallory and Nick to the slow burn romance, I would recommend this to anyone looking for a good laugh out loud rom-com.

In this marriage of convenience romantic comedy, Erika and Nate are tasked with the impossible - pretend to be in love without actually falling in love. Neither of them want or have time for a serious relationship right now, but they both need to be married for their own reasons. So of course, a "fake" marriage sounds like it will solve all the problems, right?

I don't care if it's a predictable trope... it's still my favorite. You'll get me every time with a fake dating or marriage of convenience. There's something about the chemistry that's always there, just under the surface waiting to bubble over. And then once it does... holy hotness! The steamy scenes were fantastic, but so was the build up in their relationship. I also loved the friends each of them have and would love to see a series continue with more about them!

And I really enjoyed all the various types of rep in this book, diversity, chronic illness, LGBTQ+.
