This was such a fun start to what promises to be a great series! I can’t wait to get to know more of the group in the future books and will definitely be reading the entire series as they are available.

I loved the alternating POVs - I’m a huge fan of this in contemporary romances. The execution worked wonderfully for me, I didn’t have any problems remembering whose POV we were reading.

This promises to be a fun YA series, though I would recommend for upper YA mostly due to language.

I would classify House of Hollow as a mild horror… and I’m a total chicken when it comes to being scared.

Overall, this was a pretty good read. I didn’t love it like I did House of Salt and Sorrow or Horrid, both 5 star reads for me. But I didn’t at any point DISlike it either. As I sit here writing this review, I actually find that I just don’t have much to say about it either way.

I would recommend this one to fans of light horror or those wanting to give horror a try to see if they even like it. It’s definitely not on par with Stephen King or Dean Koontz, which I used to read a lot of when I was younger and not afraid of everything. But it is a good YA option. There are some fantasy elements to it as well, but it’s not a fantasy per se.

I stayed up entirely too late finishing this book… but to be fair, once you get to a certain point the twists keep coming so fast you just cannot put the book down!

I admit, at the beginning of this one I was a little confused… I thought I had it all figured out, and I wondered how boring this book was going to be if it just continued on exactly as it seemed. I should have known better… I did NOT in fact have ANYTHING figured out. And every time I thought I did… nope… I was wrong again.

I adored this book… IYKYK. ❤️

For the most part, I enjoyed this book. I did however think it took quite a while for me to really get into it, and I’m generally not a huge fan of going back and forth in time (with flashbacks and backstory type narratives every other chapter). I often felt like I had to work hard to stay in the story and remember what timeline I was reading for some reason. By the second half I was more into it and enjoyed it, though it didn't really blow me away.

After 8 years, Maggie realizes that the quickie Vegas wedding she thought was "taken care of" that same weekend in fact wasn't. She travels across the country from California to Maine to find Finn and settle things once and for all. But the spark that they had in Vegas has never died out and they are both left questioning what they really want.

The Do-Over is a sweet romance with plenty of heart. The instant rekindled chemistry between Maggie and Finn was obvious from the first chapter. And the family dynamic between Finn and his Nana was so cute it could give you a tooth ache, in the best way.

I loved seeing snippets of what Finn and Maggie were like on their Vegas vacation together, each of them challenging the other with fun and light dares as well as with more important matters in their lives, like their dreams and career goals. But they also allowed each other to be who they are, without pushing for either to change.

I would recommend The Do-Over to anyone looking for a romance that will make you say "awww" and feels like being snuggled in your favorite oversized hoodie.

I read The Exception while on vacation last week and I flew through it! It was such a fun romcom set largely in the medical field, with our MCs being a nurse and “almost” paramedic. There’s a fun meet cute turned enemies to lovers vibe going on and I am here for it!

And don’t worry if you notice that it’s the third in the series. I haven’t read the others (yet) and had no trouble feeling like I was missing anything. That said, I’ll definitely be going back to read the rest, because I loved the side characters and friendships just as much as the main couple!
