When I picked up the Switch to start reading it, I was expecting a fun summer rom=com, with quirky characters and lots of shenanigans. While I definitely got some shenanigans and the grandmother/granddaughter main characters are quirky, it just wasn't quite what I expected. This is very likely my own fault though, as it's clearly labeled as Women's Fiction, and nowhere does it say "rom-com."

Unfortunately, I'm just not as into Women's Fiction, so for me this one was only a 3-star read. There is nothing wrong with the writing, I enjoyed the characters, but the story was more serious and not as fun as I'd hoped. So while I don't rate this as a 4-star for my own enjoyment, I will give it a 4-star for the genre. If you love Women's Fiction, I think you will really enjoy this tale of life-swapping and finding the self you thought you'd lost.

But not Callum... when Nikki tries to clue him in, he gives her the brush off and stays put, starting the biggest island food truck rivalry the foodies have ever experienced! And can they protect their hearts in the process?

I loved this enemies-to-lovers turned friends with benefits romcom! Nikki's character development was nicely done... her grief, which bled over into ALL of her relationships, was both a trigger and comforting. Some of the things that Callum said to Nikki were things that I was glad to hear, having dealt with a very similar loss. Callum's character arc did feel a little less developed, but it was forgivable since it was a first person POV of Nikki's account.

I give this one 4.5 stars, with a round up to 5 because I absolutely couldn't put it down. I finished in just 2 days, and read over 80% of book on the second. It's definitely worth a read for any romcom lover looking for a Happily Ever After.

I really enjoyed A Rogue of One’s Own! I had not read Bringing Down the Duke yet, but that didn’t stop me from enjoying this fun historical rom com standalone. And I will definitely be picking up Bringing Down the Duke soon now!

I loved that this, while definitely historical as its main character is a key suffragist in London, did not feel stuffy like historical fiction tends to (for me anyway). It felt like a light read even while focusing on very important subject matter of their time. And of course, has the perfect steamy scenes too!

Highly recommend this to any romance lover!

This was a really cute (and also slightly frustrating) YA romance. it's one of those books where you know from about the second chapter that they are meant to be together and that they each feel the same way about each other but are too nervous to spill... but it still made for a really cute fake boyfriend/friends to lovers romance.

Chloe Neill remains one of my favorite authors and I will read basically anything she writes. So I'm happy to report that The Bright and Breaking Sea did not disappoint one bit.

Kit and Rian are starting the slowest of slow burns that I have ever seen. They have an immediate chemistry, but neither of them is willing to trust the other enough to really get too close. I enjoyed watching them become more at ease and begin to form a relationship based on trust. There is no insta-love here, folks.

The world building is well done and I do believe it's Chloe's first fully "fantasy world." The other series she has written have been based in alternate US cities, such as Chicago or New Orleans. But this new fantasy world has a 18th or 19th century feel, with some elements of progression, such as women being able to captain and crew the ships. I really enjoyed getting this glimpse into a completely new reality and can't wait to see where she takes it in future books.

I highly recommend this book to fans of pirate-type fantasy and slow burn romance. Fans of Chloe's previous works will not be disappointed.

I really enjoyed this holiday romance. At first, I admit I was a little thrown off with the British single quotations... it's the first book I've read that has used this format so I actually had to Google to see if it was an error. But I was quickly immersed in the story and forgot all about it.

While a little cliché, this nanny-boss romance was a fun read with good character development. I enjoyed the relationship Ruby had with the girls and that she always put their needs first. I won't say much more as it would be considered spoilery, but the Ruby-Barclay dynamic was very fun to watch develop and I loved their tension.

As for steam level, Once Upon a Wish-mas was a holiday romance more intense than your typical Hallmark movie. There are some steamy scenes and adult language, so I probably wouldn't recommend it to grandma. I would, however, definitely recommend this one to anyone looking for a good holiday smut-mance.
