This second installment in the European Billionaire Beaus series was just as much fun as the first. I love a romance with a happy ending and without too much drama. This was another sweet romance that was a perfect summer read, whether it’s at the beach, by the pool or around the campfire.
I bought this book partly for the cover and because the synopsis sounded like something I'd really like. But this book definitely wasn't what I was expecting, and to be honest, if I hadn't been listening to the audiobook I probably would have DNF. I would say that it took a while to get into the story, but I'm not really sure I was ever "into it," honestly. I already have The Night Country, so I will eventually read that to see where she takes the story. But it's not likely something I will ever be rereading.
I really enjoyed this book! It was a little bit predictable and really the only twist was at the beginning. But it was a really fun audiobook and I can't wait for the sequel!
This book is a contemporary fiction that hits some hard topics. Hard to read and hard to think about. And I'm not going to lie, I don't read hard books often. I read for enjoyment and escape, and to be taken away from the serious stuff that goes on every day. I read mostly YA fantasy and sci-fi, with a little bit of rom-com mixed in when even those get too heavy.
So to write a review for this book is really hard for me. I want to be honest and tell you that I didn't want to finish it. But I also don't want to deter anyone from reading the book if contemporary fiction is your thing. Because if I'm looking at it from a strictly critical standpoint, it was a good book. The story was well done and the writing was great. And it's based on real life events that shouldn't be swept under the rug. So for all of that, I would definitely give it ⭐⭐⭐⭐
But it's a hard book to read... and even hard to digest. We're all different and we all read for our own reasons. And I am absolutely certain that if you read this review and think you'd like this book, YOU WILL. But if you're like me and you read for escape, I'd recommend sticking with a good old fashioned fantasy.

I really enjoyed this romcom! it was a quick and entertaining read, with some steam and a HEA.
