I was expecting to be disappointed by the cliffhanger but I actually liked it??? She didn’t leave us with any questions unanswered about the case but left the story just open enough that we don’t know exactly how it ends.

This was my favorite audiobook I’ve listened to so far. I thought the acting was phenomenal. And when we didn’t know exactly who a character was, sometimes their voice gave us a little clue before the author told us for sure, which was fun. It was also fun to have Ashley Flowers read the epilogue, but I kept forgetting I wasn’t listening to an episode of Crime Junkie. She definitely has more of a voice for reporting than fiction.

 Very JohnGreen-Tumblr-2014-YA but it was also published in 2014 and centers on a blog so it’s to be expected. I also didn’t like the narrator’s voice so that didn’t help with the cringe parts. But it is a really good portrait of teenage depression. It really is hard to figure out sometimes that when you feel like you hate the whole world you actually deeply do not like yourself :( Nick & Charlie!!! I really want to reread all of Heartstopper now to see how it all fits together. Was Michael mentioned in Nick & Charlie? I can’t remember. When will volume 5 of Heartstopper take place? It makes me sad a little that in Solitaire Tori feels like everyone likes Charlie and no one likes her and then the Heartstopper franchise blows up and no one remembers Solitaire anymore :/ Whatever they’re literally not real

I have a hard time rating this because it was thought provoking, immersive, and well written, but I don’t ever want to read it again and wouldn’t recommend it to many. It was incredibly bleak, and I’m honestly impressed by Chan’s ability to capture such a hopeless feeling. But it definitely made me think a lot, too.

Took me longer to read this because I left my library copy in the buffalo exchange dressing room for 5 days. I finished it on the exact day it was due. 

I was excited about the concept but most of it was pretty basic sociological theory. I think the most interesting part for me was how the author compared stereotypical portrayals of Black Americans in reality tv to minstrel shows of the 1800s.

I picked up this book because I wanted to learn more about asexuality, but finished this book understanding so much more not only about asexuality but about how sexuality and romance operate in dominant American culture. This is a must read for people to challenge their ideas of how people and relationships are supposed to work. It’s about so much more than an identity, but understanding the identity helps us deconstruct some of our societal and personal expectations.

The ending felt a little rushed but other than that I have only positive things to say. Love Wang’s writing style and her ability to embody her childhood perspective.

I thought I could read a science book for fun 😪 but I really was just forcing myself to get through it. Maybe I’ll try again another time. All the love to Rachel tho
