Gothic novels are not typically my thing but I was drawn to this book. The atmospheric story gave me chills and kept me on the edge of my seat until the very last page. It was such a fresh story, a twist I never saw coming and the incredibly strong female lead was an inspiration. I <3 Noemi, she is a feminist icon! 

My favorite so far of this series! The writing is a lot better, the characters have strong development and the story is adorable. 
I love a good enemies to lovers story and fell in love with Theo and Maddie. Their conflicts were relatable, their banter was witty and fun, and their appetite for pizza was apparently insatiable. 

I thought maybe the second book in this series would be a bit better, boy was I wrong. This lacked all the good things the first book had (which wasn't much). The plot wasn't stellar, pacing was off, and I honestly didn't buy into the romance which is kind of the whole point of books like this. I thought the friendships and family were a better focus.  

Rich/entitled white men throw fits when things don't go their way. What was the point of this book? This story didn't need to be told. It started strong and then the flashbacks to people who are all dead and added nothing to the story seemed pointless. Then the last 3-5 chapters picked up again. I hated this. So many sexist, misogynistic men. Even the main character, although the author tried to paint in a positive light, came off pretentious and privileged. I would not recommend this book to anyone.  

A fun and quick beach read! This book was laugh out loud funny, with a cute romance and a couple spicy scenes. I loved it and can't wait to check out more from this writing duo! 

This did not read like a Ruth Ware book. There was something about it that felt off for me. I loved the bones of the story, the actual plot was wonderful and I love a good mystery that keeps you guessing until the end. However, this book was a little scattered for me. The first third was difficult to follow, the middle got very bogged down with scenery details and the end flew past at an alarming speed, making the pacing of this book off. I also wished there would have been more solid transitions on flashbacks to the girls school days.

Overall, it was a good book. Although the writing didn't come across as Ruth Ware the story did and she has a way of coming up with intricate and fun mysteries. 

These books get better and better! I can't believe the roller coaster of emotions I went through with this one. One minute I'm laughing out loud and then next I'm sobbing. Truly a beautiful story about friendship, love and family.
