I was hooked and then instantly let down. What a fun premise but hate the short story format. 

The overall message of the book is great! Extend grace, step outside your comfort zone, etc. etc. However, I think this is written from an extremely privileged point of view. We are currently in one of the most divisive climates and I don't think I should extend grace to those who don't want basic human rights for everyone, or for those actively trying to start a war! This was my first Brown book, I have a couple on my list to read. I hope they don't all come off in this way. 

I spent 90% of this book confused

Hear me out! The plot was fine, predicable and over done. The writing was kind of boring. Nothing here stood out to me. It was a run of the mill mystery/detective novel. Just not my genre. I know some people will LOVE this, but not me. 

I was hooked! But it fell apart at the end. 

Already know I'll get hate for this, but what the hell was this book! I felt like all character development was thrown out the window. The story was messy and convoluted. I was just counting down to the ending. 

Now this is how you do a short story!
