The perfect trashy thriller. This provided all the gossipy, real housewives, rich bitch content I love. All the characters are flawed but it works. Although the ending is a bit predictable it's satisfying.

A magical follow-up to The Ex Hex. This book follows Gwyn and Wells as they compete to have the best witchy store and fall in love along the way.

I adored this book so much. The perfect October read. I don't think it's without flaws though. There seemed to be unresolved plot points and I think the main conflict actually happens way to far into the story (we're talking 3rd act for sure!). I also don't think the title made nearly as much sense as the first book, although it is adorable.

Also Sir Purrcival is a delight and I need more of him!

If you're looking for a fluffy witchy read, pick this up. It's quick, it's cute and it's about hot witches. My biggest complaint is it's simply not long enough. There was no time to dig into this insane world or get to know any of the characters. It was an instalove story with very little substance. I would have absolutely loved this as a full length book and it's a shame the author didn't flesh it out more.

An enjoyable adventure with baking, treason, magic and war. Mona and Spindle were delightful characters that made me laugh and feel lots of emotions.
However, I think this book could have done better with some of the plot and pacing. Things advanced both slowly and way too quick and there was some non sensical plot points toward the end. At the end of the day this is a middle grade book so I shouldn't judge it too harshly, but I just expected a bit more.

Absolutely perfection! This was such an adorable love story. It was well written, witty, and sweet. Hannah was a deeply complex character (for being a rom-com) and Jack is the most noble well intended man. My only complaint was that I felt they both fell for each other so quickly, or at least it felt quickly because there appeared to be time jumps/Hannah reminiscing about these great moments together with Jack that we never actually get to read. Still fantastic and one of my new favorite romances.

I love Ruth Ware, she writes the perfect mysterious thrillers and this was one of them. I agree with the biggest critique I've seen, this is too long. There were a lot of chapters in the middle that could have been cut or condensed. I also would have loved a more thrilling end.
However, I never saw the twist coming until it was shoved in my face. This is one of the best "dark academia" mysteries I've read.

Violet Volk is one of the best magicians of her time but disappears mysteriously mid-act at the peak of her career. How did she disappear? Where did she go? Is she still alive? These are the questions that plague her sister, Sasha, and her family for the next 10 years.

This book jumps around from POVs. We get Violet, Sasha, Newspaper Articles and of course a Podcast. The audiobook for this novel is AMAZING. Full cast of characters and keep me engaged the whole time in a way I don't think the physical book could.

While I likes the journey and mystery along the way, I really disliked the ending. I felt it was unsatisfying and a little disappointing.

An absolutely beautiful story about family, generational trauma, sisterhood and loss. Although this is a "middle grade" book I still found it impactful and we'll written.

This story follows a young girl whose family moves from California to the east coast to live with their grandma or Halmoni. Halmoni is ill and the young girl does everything she can to keep her alive and well, which means talking to a magical tiger.

The magical realism was done so well. Nothing was so over the top and it was alluded to that the magic was really just inside her head the whole time.

My favorite thing about this book was the emphasis on how important stories are. They hold so much weight and can change ones perspective. Also, stories and their meanings can change as you change and grow.

I love a good old fashioned mystery/thriller. There wasn't anything about this that was difficult to figure out or understand. It was straight forward but kept me intrigued the whole time.

First off...ACAB

Secondly, I wouldn't recommend this audio book to anyone. It is so confusing and hard to follow via audio and I think that really ruined it for me. I could see how this is an action packed and thrilling book if read the traditional way but honestly I was left confused and asking myself what really happened.
