This is not the type of genre I prefer to read at all. This is a story about a women coming to terms with God as well as with herself. As a non Christian this type of book can become overly preachy and condemning. However The Someday List was not judgmental in the slightest. The main character, as well as several of the side characters, go through their own problems. The overall message of the novel is that we are not perfect, and trust in God.

The writing in this story is excellent. The characters are good, and relatable. The pace is a bit slow at times. Overall the drastic change in the husband was not believable to me. Maybe if he was presented with at least one redeeming quality before his transformation I would have been left with hope that their marriage would survive.

If you primarily read Christian fiction then I thing this would be a good novel to seek out. If like me you got this as a Kindle freebie then I would say it is worth the read. Otherwise, I would not go out of my way to recommend it.

The Kate Daniels series isn't my favorite series. However it is in my top five. The writing is good. Although there are times my mind wanders in the descriptions. Yet that is probably because I have read this book at least five times. The main reason that I enjoy this series is that it is different. Ok it follows the formula of a kick ass female main character who has something unique about her. And there is a strong alpha male who is interested in her despite her lack of feminine whiles. I suppose that says something about me that this formula describes all the series in my top five list.

What is different about the Kate Daniels series is the setting. It is held in an alternate reality where technology and magic are at odds for dominance. Since tech has had the upper hand for centuries magic is fighting back with a vengeance. As the world is sometimes ruled by tech, all things familiar to us, and at other times magic.

All the main characters are also on board with this series. You have vampires, shape shifters, and witches. Yet these paranormal creatures all have a slight unique twist to them. Nope they don't sparkle. In addition there are also many less common or unique creatures added as well. It is interesting reading the interactions between all of these groups.

It does not hurt that the series is also set in Atlanta, my current stomping grounds. You can not drive past the world of coke without wondering what creature is stalking inside.

Overall it is truly a five star series. One I am happy to be reading again.

Today my seven year old complained that there were no good books on their Kindle. So for bed time we read an assortment of picture and easy readers. This was one of those books. Although not their favorite of the bunch, my children found it a cute read. It is also one of the easier reads of the second level. The story tells about puppies as well as some minor information about how to care for them. They enjoyed it. I am considering buying more by this author.

I quite enjoy Cindy Bracken's children's books which are more interactive. In this story there is a page stating common "knowledge" about dogs. The following page informs the children if it is in fact true or not true. I learned a bit about dogs reading this book to my children, and they enjoyed saying if it is true or false. I think this is a book they will enjoy reading to themselves as well.

This is my favorite book by Cindy Bracken. Although the reading is really simple, the story is fun. The first page shows a close up animation of an animal. The second page says what the animal is. My kids loved shouting out the answer. This will be one we continue to read even after we all have it memorized.

This is an interesting children's novel about two children from the opposite ends of the Earth who discover a 'magic' park where anything seems to be possible. The children, with the support of their parents, work to discover who created it and why.

It is a cute novel that my children and myself enjoyed. However it is short and leaves off in a way that makes you believe that you are truly only at the beginning of the story. My children did not like that. I think it leaves them wanting to creat the rest of the story themselves. The one major downside of the novel is the overwhelming gender bias. Boys are good at math and girls talk too much. Boys are the protectors and girls are overly emotional. For a novel who Warner's about understanding others culture the gender bias should have been written out, and not so blatant and widespread.
