The Someday List
by Stacy Hawkins Adams
This is not the type of genre I prefer to read at all. This is a story about a women coming to terms with God as well as with herself. As a non Christian this type of book can become overly preachy and condemning. However The Someday List was not judgmental in the slightest. The main character, as well as several of the side characters, go through their own problems. The overall message of the novel is that we are not perfect, and trust in God.
The writing in this story is excellent. The characters are good, and relatable. The pace is a bit slow at times. Overall the drastic change in the husband was not believable to me. Maybe if he was presented with at least one redeeming quality before his transformation I would have been left with hope that their marriage would survive.
If you primarily read Christian fiction then I thing this would be a good novel to seek out. If like me you got this as a Kindle freebie then I would say it is worth the read. Otherwise, I would not go out of my way to recommend it.
