My review on my blog https://adpibookworm.blogspot.com/2018/01/a-darker-shade-of-magic-review.html
This book was so much fun! I really enjoyed the not knowing which was the prince and which was the assassin. I did figure it out before it was revealed but I still enjoyed the story so much.
I need to give this some thought before I give a full review.

I would actually give this a 4.5 star. More thoughts to come.
So this is my second time reading this book and I can't believe how much I forgot. Everyone knows that this is a Beauty and the Beast retelling with Fae. I remember really loving this book when I first read it but I waited too long between books that I had forgotten everything that happened in this book.
Going through this a second time I think I caught on to a lot more of the problematic things in this story which I am glad I recognized them this go round but it didn't take away from how much fun I had while reading this book.
I have always loved Beauty and the Beast and I thought that this was an interesting take on the story. I would warn you though that their are some triggers for rape and date rape in this book.
I think what I loved most about this story was just how it kept me on the edge of my seat the whole time. I loved experiencing Spring Court through Feyre's eyes. I will admit that I find Feyre really frustrating because she doesn't know how to listen and do what is in the best interest of her staying alive but I enjoyed being the reader and seeing the bigger picture unfolding while Feyre had such a small view of what was going on.
I have already started reading A Court of Mist and Fury so I hope to be completing that one very soon.
