Autumn follows a May-December friendship between Daniel (100 years old) and Elisabeth (30 years old). Daniel was Elisabeth's neighbor when she was young and they formed a friendship over art and story telling. In the present Daniel is in hospice, the UK is in a difficult period, and Elisabeth can't make sense of love in her life. This is a beautiful story narrated by both Daniel and Elisabeth. It is the tale of two similar souls and unique minded people against the harsh world.

I love stories about younger people having relationships with older people. I think it is an interesting dynamic in a story to see the way two people see the world in similar or different ways at such different ages. This story pulled on my heart strings because I know what it is like to see someone you love in hospice care. I gave this novel 4 out of 5 stars and will be picking up the next book in this series.

What I loved:
Daniel and Elisabeth's relationship
Daniel and Elisabeth as characters
The atmosphere of the book

What I disliked:
Elisabeth's mother (she didn't feel very well developed to me)
quotations weren't used
Sometimes I got lost as to who's point of view I was in
