This is a novel in verse that pulls at your heartstrings. Our main character ZJ is describing his life as his family finds out that his father is suffering from TBI from playing professional football. This is a story about grief.  About having to adapt to a new way of life and how families are affected by those suffering from TBI. While this book covers a very serious topic, I think that this book is important for kids to read to learn empathy for things happening within their friends' lives that they may not be aware of. 

Made it 25% and I don’t understand the set up. It is taking too long for the stuff to start happening. 

I just do not care about the plot of this book, which is sad because I have enjoyed other books by this author. I feel like this is too much like The Measure for me.
