• dual-timelines with alternating POVs
• vivid descriptions of the beautiful setting
• interesting characters
• easy to understand the Italian words & phrases sprinkled throughout the story thanks to context clues or immediate translations 

ELEMENTS I DIDN’T ENJOY
• too slow-paced
• uninteresting ending with some loose ends
• the story has a lot of potential, but it ultimately feels like very little happens despite it spanning over 100 years

an entertaining romantasy with satisfying twists and lovable characters! The world building is so immersive and clearly done well considering I read this as an audiobook and was still able to follow along and understand the story. I’m so glad we chose this as our book club’s read this month and I can’t wait for the sequel 😄

🎧 the dual narration by Stella Bloom and Anthony Palmini is perfection!

This was such a fun read! It took me a while to get into at the very beginning, but then I couldn’t read it fast enough. The lore, the banter, and the action make this such an entertaining story. I guessed some of the twists, but they’re still satisfying! 

The world building is so good and I feel like I really understand their world and legends. Plus, reading the audiobook at the same time as a physical copy helped me learn how to pronounce several names and words 😅 and I’m so glad that book two comes out soon!
