Such a wonderful book and character. The author doesn't waste time explaining the structure of the book or filling in holes, and I respect that so much. Absolutely delightful.

Very conflicted about this. I had waited so long to read it (many, many reasons for that), and then it took me forever to read it. Part of that was due to its physical size--this isn't a book for bedtime reading. I get that with annotated editions every last detail has to be traced, but at times the exhaustive detail was, well, exhausting. My favorite bits were where the editor showed how a few brief sentences were later expanded into chapters in the LH series.
The original text is good, but almost hard to believe that the iconic LH series came out of this original text.

Historic family saga. Was expecting more from the "tragedy" but perhaps I've become jaded. Enjoyed the setting of the Missouri Ozarks for a slight change of scenery.

Absolutely delightful and charming. Really wasn't expecting to like this as much as I did. Surprisingly deep in places. Recommended (though it's been out for ages and you've probably already read it.)

Always a good bit of fluff! Liked that there was some past and present. It's also nice to see a museum that has turned things around, despite all the death surrounding it!

These are delightful mysteries that I'm never completely able to predict. Didn't love this one quite as much as the first one, but still well worth a read.

Absolutely breathtaking. Your heart absolutely breaks for Morgan and watching her emerge from her trauma is an amazing read. Beautifully written, with Reichardt holding back in all the right places. Looking forward to more from this author.

Was not expecting to like this at all, but. . . Mathieu treats the Quiverfull movement with respect and really explores the complications of faith, breaking free from family, and growing up. Loved that it wasn't tied up into a neat package--want to know more about Rachel, but also deeply satisfied with the ending. That's a tricky line to walk.
