A great little snapshot of WWI. I've read a lot of books set in this era over the years and always appreciate it when an author tells the homefront story.
However, it was all a little too perfect--at times, the character arcs didn't feel natural, but an effort to make sure key historical points covered. And we all know how I feel about forcing the story to fit historic goals.

If it hadn't been a book club choice, I never would have picked this up, much less finished it. But I'm a good book club participant. And this book wasn't even close to my cup of tea.
I get why it won a Printz Honor, but I really didn't enjoy reading this at all. So repetitive! So crass! And I'm fine with messy endings, but really?

Didn't love this as much as Anna and the French Kiss, but it was still delightful. A great vacation read!

Pure fluff, but as someone who has always loved spy things (hello, Alias!), this was a perfect beach read. May catch up on the others, but they're not a top priority.
