Not sure if this was more helpful than her other books but I appreciated how succinct it is, and would recommend to someone looking to read her work but not wanting to read a long book

I loved this book. I loved how it was both serious and absolutely WILD and DramaticTM. You know there's good writing when I am fully 110% invested in a heterosexual couple and I /WAS/. So much happened in this book and sometimes I was frustrated by how new conflicts or complications kept coming up but everything ended up flowing together in a way that made sense and felt seamless by the end. I am sad this story is over but can see myself rereading it soon! I stayed up past 5am two different nights reading this book

I’m so confused and also so excited?????? What a wild ending omggg

I honestly was not expecting this book to be what it was- I did not understand what the monsters were before starting it but what a topical and thoughtful book, a reminder that monsters will never be fully gone, and a guide as we imagine our better future. I’m really loving books that are kind of fantasy-ifying real life evil, telling our own story in fairytale form.

I first rated 4/5 but I think if I read this as a kid, it would have definitely gotten 5/5 so I'm leaving it there. My main complaint is no LGBT rep but also they're children so maybe in the next one. Also I read the audiobook and didn't fully focus and felt like things went too fast/so much buildup for not that much payoff, but I do think if I read the text I'd have followed it more naturally

It was... fine. But I honestly didn't feel like there were any new character insights, and maybe that wasn't a fair thing to expect but that's what I was hoping for? Maybe I would feel differently if I hadn't been listening to the audiobook but yeah, it was fine but I'm a little disappointed.

Things I DID love:
the obvious Hamilton reference in the Anakin/Padmé story
the characterization of Asajj Ventress
Ahsoka

but also like. idk just make obi-wan bi already

Honestly I didn't love the ending, as it felt really abrupt, but I understand why. Up until then I really loved the fleshing out of all the characters and contexts.
