i’m a bit bummed about it, because it had every characteristic to be a favourite book of mine, and I really loved the characters, but the overall plot or conflict wasn’t really clear, nor was it interesting (for me)  :(

felt like two completely different stories
Franny was relatable, thoughtful, accurate, even emotional
the character itself, Franny, was also a perfectly crafted and beautiful character
on the other hand, Zooey was such a pain in the ass. i very much would have dnfed the book, if it wasn’t because  of the  5star quality of Franny

p.d.:im starting to notice that salingner creates amazing, human, accurate, lovable female characters (Phoebe, Jane, Franny,…: ma' girls💋)

honestly, i love when people pour essay-long reviews detailing their whole life story with a book, their expectations, thoughts after a reread a long time after, or how the book changed them. i find so much human value in those types of reviews……❤️‍🩹

heartfelt
 relatable and mundane and raw
i feel for Andrea
however, the subplots were confusing and distracting, they drove me away from the heart of the story and disconnected me from the book at times, making it harder to get through
informative reflective

wooooooo
sososososo informative
im a sucker for long lists
maybe exercises or journaling prompts would have enhances the impact of the book, but definitely one to anotate and come back to

taught cruel men with taught cruel lives

Or maybe i just wasn't in the mood
