i was a huge fan of this book. as a part of my 2017 ive been making an effort to read a more diverse selection of books and i have to say i was quite happy with this one. it was a heart felt story, one that was certainly eye opening for myself (a sixteen year old caucasian girl). i definitely recommend it to anyone, it may have a more YA feel to it but i dont think its message is limited to that age group.

first things first, i am a huge fan of how this book is written. it gives me that spoken word poetry feel and i couldn't put it down for those reasons. i think thats what ive come to love most about this book, though im not sure if i feel the same way about the story itself. it gives me the vibe of most YA dystopian books, a clear change in our current world, a female protagonist who has a deathly power and an obvious love triangle to come. i am keeping an open mind as i do plan on reading the rest of the series (i just purchased them yesterday), but im not sure if it will fly up to be one of my favourites.

this book was amazing, i loved its twist on beauty and the beast. fairytale rewrites have always been one of favourite stories and this was no dissapointment. :)
