one of the things i tend to do is if i hear news of YA books becoming movies i like to have read them first, and i honestly cant wait to see Simon and all the gang brought to life soon! i picked up this book having not heard much about it, now it seems i see quite a bit more of it. i love simon, he quickly became a favourite character with his sense of humour and all the quirks he carries along with him. i was a fan of the way this book went, with the addition of the conversations between him and Blue, it just added to the suspense of finally finding out who it was. I had a couple ideas of who he might turn out to be, though i wasnt exactly right, i did quite enjoy that twist. I sped through this book, completely unable to put it down. i can't wait to check out Becky's new book sometime soon
i adored this book, hands down one of the best books i've read this year so far. can september come faster??? one dark throne would be appreciated at this current moment. it was so easy to fall into this new world, and in some ways other new series fall short this one makes up for all those before. Kendare did a wonderful job of creating this new world in my mind, it was easy to follow and it didnt feel like i was being thrust into something where i was to assume every detail. the three sisters each brought with them a different perspective, though if i had to pick a favourite it would certainly be Arsinoe. her part of the story was the one i kept waiting to come back again. i cant wait to see how the characters will deal with the twist discovered at the end (i had a feeling something like that would happen). overall it was an amazing read
this book oh my. words cant even describe it. Marissa is one of my favorite authors and this book reminded me why. to be honest i was hesitant starting this book, enough alice in wonderland spin offs have been created to make me wary of this one (especially about the queen of hearts). but i thoroughly enjoyed this origin story, quick to fall in love with the characters, Jest and Cath made my heart so very happy. i wasnt expecting the ending that came but it truly adds to how i think of the queen of hearts now. the fact that she'd experienced so much heartbreak and had been forced to be with the king (i have very mixed feelings about him, i think it was a bit odd to have him going after Cath >.<). and finally being able to say off with their head. it gives more depth to this character and i adored it.
this book was spectacular, heartbreaking and beautiful all at once. perhaps containing some of the most heartwarming romances but at the same time still managing to squeeze my heart. told in a joint perspective between Jude and Noah, the reader gets to experience both old and new parts of the story as the twins find their way back to each other and find their selves. i couldnt put this book down and i have recommended it to so many people. you will want to keep reading to the end just to find out what happens
not a huge fan of the graphic novel but this one was an exception. set in a world after Winter i was quite happy to be reunited with one of my favorite set of characters. Iko i think was one of the more underappreciated characters in the Lunar Chronicles and i was happy to see her being done justice. though the illustrations of some of the characters weren't exactly how i'd seen them as a i read the book, they still were quite lovely. i cant wait for the second one to come out and to be able to see how this will be solved.
