✔ Neverwhere by Neil Gaiman 5★♥ (kindle 5★♥/ dramatized audio on itunes own5★♥♥)

Wow. Neil has been recommended and liked by a lot of shelfari people here. And so I just got 'round to reading Neverwhere and really enjoyed it. His writing is very gripping and the storyline is quite new and different. I really enjoyed reading Neverwhere.

And then I've listened to the dramatized audio and liked that as well. Even though it was a just a little short. I loved James McAvoy. He was funny.

I will definitely be giving his other books and audiobooks a go. (Probably Stardust because I absolutely loved the movie).

Quotes I liked:

"London grew into something huge and contradictory. It was a good place, and a fine city, but there is a price to be paid for all good places, and a price that all good places have to pay."

“Do you like cat?” she said.
“Yes,” said Richard. “I quite like cats.”
Anaesthesia looked relieved. “Thigh?” she asked. “Or breast?”

A little over-wordy at some spots, but otherwise a good read. Mostly a family story about 2 sisters and their desire for happiness. Some romance and I think it could've had more. Loved Everett the most. Melted with Sarah at those romance scenes.

“Just because boobs are soft and feminine doesn’t mean they don’t make great weapons.”

~ Sarah's sister, Mackie, about whether Sarah should wear a torturous bra called "Boob 'em" in order to impress high school ex-boyfriend who said she looked old.

This is written by country singer star Wynonna Jude. The story focuses on Destiny Hart with her point if view. Other characters have their point of view told also, like Seth (Destiny's boyfriend) and Destiny's parents. The relationship between the family members feels a little realistic and is heartwarming. Destiny's passion for music really stands out. It felt that Wynonna was Destiny at times. The relationship between Destiny and Seth felt very bland (though I did like Seth a lot). It didn't feel realistic because their relationship story was like the wallpaper in this book. The other details in the book were good and that's why I'm giving it 4 stars

Some forgetable characters and a slow plot. Good character development and romance. Although sometimes the girls got on my nerves. The romance was alright. It mostly focused on the circle of girl friends and all their drama.

Characters to remember are: Isabella, Mary, and Lauren. They each have the best character development. They are apart of a larger circle if friends.

Some characters I never bothered to remember while reading. So no need to feel guilty if you want to skip their forgetful story.

The book would have received a four star if it kept with Isabella, Mary, and Lauren's point of view. All the others were excessive.
