Boy, was it better than I expected, It cleverly uses the format of a suspense novel to explore the lack of belief society has in Women's voices. A great one for a book club with multiple themes including the exploitation of social media etc. Oh, and it is fun too - with a completely guessable end if you are paying attention to the clues :)

It is always interesting to revisit a book that I originally read as a teenager.  Once more I find one of my previously loved Dicken's novels, far, far too sentimental.

The plot relied heavily on coincidence, as all Dickens novels do.  That was not a problem, the story being overly complicated was.  I understand why so many adaptations choose to ignore one part of the story.

Oh and Oliver was far, far too sweet.

Bah Humbug!  Oops wrong Novel.

Basically the first book retold in a new build house.  I still really enjoyed it and if anything newly built houses in newly built housing estates can be scarier that their older counterparts.  The characters were slightly more engaging than those in the first book too.

A will read any further instalments but would expect a twist in the tale by book three.

A great overview of Celtic (predominantly Irish), paganism, mythology, and legend.

I shall be coming back to this as a good reference text as I continue with my readings on the subject.

A very important contribution to Irish Folklore, this book documents "true tales" of The Other Crowd (sometimes called fairies) as told at the turn of the 21st Century.
A lot of these stories were told in the speaker's native tongue Gaelige (Irish) and they have been taken down, translated into English (where relevant), and repeated mostly in the teller's own words.

A mixture of fantasy, based on the Irish Myth of the Fomorian and the Tuatha Dé Danann peoples; and Historical fiction, based in late 10th-century Viking Dublin.

I have been looking forward to this - it is high time the Tuatha Dé Danann and Fomorians left the folklore books and entered a more contemporary tale.

I will be reading the next installment when it comes out.
