So I'm giving the book itself a 4 star rating as I enjoyed the story the book was trying to tell.
I read/listened to this book because it is on the 2018 YALSA Top Ten Amazing Audiobook list. This is a graphic novel memoir. It does not work as an audiobook in my opinion. There are nuances in the illustrations that help tell the story that you miss when it is an audiobook. I actually read the book as I listened to the audio.

Liked the premise behind these books. Didn't really like the books though.
Update - I just reread this book as am audio book narrated by Eddie Redmayne. I enjoyed his narration, the sound effects that have been added to this narration, and the fact that proceeds go to charity. The content in my opinion doesn't lend itself to audio.
