Not my type of book.
Liked the humour but it was too far between.
Think it might have been okay after start, but start is slow and things aren’t explained well.

Dystopian books aren’t really my thing, and this is no different.
While I loved the prose and the way the book was written, I’m not a fan of what happened and where it think the book is going.
Kenji is awesome and I love him, but I don’t think it’s enough to get me to continue with this series.

I absolutely adored this book!
I love the perspective of Mulan it gives. I love the insight of being a girl in China back then.
I love how early the romance was established and sweet it was.
I loved Kendan and Tuxi.
Kai is a total book boyfriend.
I loved how authentic it felt, it felt like reading a Chinese painting.
Absolute 6 star read.

I quite enjoyed this book.
I liked Kate, and Edwina and the humour that abounded from them.
I liked seeing Anthony’s point of view and getting to know and love him.
But I absolutely hate that American spelling is used. It’s a book based on Britain, use the right spelling.

6 stars.

Holy. Wow!
1. I can’t believe I waited so long to read this book, and
2.
It’s incredible!
I love akira. I love Lillian.
I love the random touches of humour.
I loved the intrigue and the twists and turns.
I absolutely hate that Joan’s US publisher did her so dirty on this book and so it’s unlikely we’ll get a second, but this book blew my little mind and I adore it.
All time favourite.

I absolutely loved this book!
I’m still new to Greek gods, but this was a great book about them. I especially loved how the different gods were explained, so if you’re new, like me, you don’t have to wonder.
I loved Antoni, Hermes, and Mekhonnen. I also loved how Hades holds his ground.
At times I thought Persephone was a bit too weak willed, but I think that’s the point.
This is a great love story, and a great spin.

I wanted to love this book, but it wasn’t what I thought it would be. I was hoping it would be Diviners-esque but it wasn’t.
I’m not really sure what this book was to be fair.
Nothing was really explained, the world wasn’t built well and I had no idea what was going on or why or what it meant.
Mae’s character changed dramatically over the course of the book, the majority of which was held over a day. She goes from sweet, to selfish, then evil, then cold and uncaring. In 24 hours.
The other characters were slightly confusing.
Sebastian was the only one I wanted to know more of and he was a bit part player.
Overall, this wasn’t really a great book. I’d pass.

A great book.
A little *too* Austen-centric, with at times it being too much and too distracting. I also felt at times Vicky was so naïve to hold to the books so tightly.
But I did love the twists and turns with this book.
I loved that it wasn’t a cookie cutter romance, and dealt with some heavy subjects, and some dark subject matter.
There is a trigger warning for domestic abuse here, so be warned.
But this is a great book.

I’m quite confused about this book. Is it good? Is it bad? I really can’t decide.
First off, the punctuation and proofreading is bad. The spelling changes, particularly switching between UK/AU and US is horrific. How did this happen?
The world building I felt was lacking and things were made up as they went along. I also felt like they were trying to fit too much in. Zodiac, the elements, every single mythological creature known to man. We didn’t need it and it doesn’t work.
I also felt like the character differences between the twins weren’t established early enough. Are they supposed to be the same? Are they supposed to be different? Because you don’t really get either.
I’m also annoyed how the twins didn’t really get any help in this book. And in doing so, neither does the reader. I have no idea what is happening, why it’s happening, what caused it all.
Will I read the rest of the series? I will attempt to at least read the second, but I’m honestly not that impressed.

This is a cute YA fantasy. I say that because it’s firmly in the YA camp. It’s sweet, it’s fairly simple and straightforward.
I loved Jenna, Ren, Enzo, chiara, Luc, and Mari. They were a great cast and I look forward to the second book.
But what this book was crying out for was a map! You can’t have something based so strongly on geography and not have a map. A fair amount of the book was lost to me because it didn’t have one.
