This was a good book, and I would recommend it, but it wasn't as exciting as most of her books are. The plot was still interesting, and it had a good twist, but it wasn't as shocking. There are 2 polar opposite male characters in the book- one you're rooting for one, and the other makes you want to scream. I really did enjoy this book, but I'm being much more stingy with ranking this year, which is why I only gave it a 3.5⭐️.

This book was an interesting plot. It encompasses the FBI, clandestine programs, serial killers, and special abilities to see through the eyes of others. I was really guessing on the ending throughout the whole book. I feel like there were some details that didn't come to fruition, but it also paves the way for a sequel, so maybe those will be tied up in the next book. If you're a fan of crime/pyschological thrillers, this is definitely a good read.

I was shocked so many times during this book. The strength that it would take to be the defense attorney on your husband's murder trial of his mistress and unborn baby! The MIL made me want to punch her, so I'm glad that the FMC got a good one-liner in on her. When the verdict came in, I was shocked! I knew there had to be a twist coming, and it did not disappoint! Definitely a great read. Excited for the sequel next month!

I was hooked from the beginning. The entire book is incredibly heartbreaking, but it is also fast-paced and keeps you in suspense until the end. I definitely brings awareness to abductions and sex trafficking, and I appreciated the realness and the sensitivity Charlie Donlea uses throughout the book. She really sheds a light on how the trauma affects not only the person abducted, but also their families and communities. It's a beautifully written story that entangles 2 young women and their fight for truth and justice. I will say the very last line had me screaming for one more paragraph, or even one more sentence. I would recommend and read again.

This book was pretty good. I enjoyed the way that it digs deep into the idea of the family bond and what lengths you'd go to to protect your own. The ending was definitely shocking. I didn't see it coming; however, the story was a little slow. There were some exciting parts, but then there were lulls, too. Overall, it wasn't a bad book. 

This book was a real let down. I was initially intrigued at the beginning, but the longer I listened, the stranger it got. I was expecting some huge revelation, but the end plot twist was so anticlimactic and stupid. I usually love KM's books, but this one was a dud.

I figured out the main plot twist within the 1st 40 minutes, but I never saw the real twists coming. The way that the FMC deals with trauma and depression spoke to me! I also deal with depression and have a husband that never gives up on me, no matter how many times I feel like I don't deserve love. I listed a quote that I felt really encompassed depression. I felt deeply for these 2 characters. The way that Kiersten Modglin describes trauma and how it affects you into adulthood is really well done. So many people deal with some type of trauma, as a child, that lingers with them, so I feel like this book will resonate with many people. The ending made me cry. It wasn't the ending I wanted, but I understand the reasons. Great, fast-paced story that will keep your mind racing.

This book it interesting. This is my first Layla Moon book, so I wasn't sure what I was getting into, but it's definitely book porn with murder. 🤣 It did leave an open ending. I'm just being a little harsh, because there is improvement with grammar and the flow of the writing, but overall, an entertaining read.

This book is really good! I was intrigued the entire book and wasn't sure how it would play out until the very end. Lots of twists and turns that keep you turning the page!
