This was a nice little add-on to the series, but it definitely wasn’t necessary and it didn’t really add much to Cardan as a character. It wasn’t really engaging either and I found myself pushing to get through some of the stories. I don’t think this was a necessary read at all.

I struggled through this book, but I don’t understand why. I loved it when I first read it and was so excited to pick it up again.

This is still my favourite book of the series. I remember loving it the first time I read it, and I still live it now.

This was a good ending to the duology. We got answers to everything. There was a lot of action and twists, with a villain you never would expect. It was great.

The only thing I didn’t like was that things just kept happening out of nowhere and it felt like a child’s game of imagination where they’re like “this happens, but oh wait, this happens.” It went a bit overboard sometimes.

I loved this book so much. The developments between Jude and Cardan were so well written. I really connected to them both. The only reason this book got 4 stars is because the ending just seemed to perfect. It could have used a slightly darker ending. It was still a great read though.

This was an amazing read. I never wanted to put this book down. Jane Doe was a great character. She had flaws and vulnerabilities, and a snarky personality. The story itself was so interesting as well. I never knew what to expect. I highly recommend this book, especially for those Aussies out there looking for something written by one of us.

This was an amazing sequel and I loved every minute of it. The politics of this world intrigue me so much. I absolutely love Jude as a character. Cardan’s character development was great. And that ending…. I am so excited to read Queen of Nothing. I can’t get enough of these books.

This book drew me in right from the first page. I loved Lore as a character and seeing all the things she went through to become who she is. I loved the twists, even though I did catch one before it was revealed. I loved the friendships and the connections between the characters. It all felt so real. The Agon itself was interesting as well, but a bit different than I expected. Overall, a great book.

I’m not really sure how I feel about this one. I mean, the story wrapped up nicely, but the pacing was off. The past and present had very similar things going on and sometimes, a thing that happened in the past also happened almost exactly the same way in the present. It felt like I was reading the same scenes twice. It made for a bit of a struggle to get through.

The writing style was still beautiful and the editing was a lot better. I do love how Rin Chupeco writes her characters. Likh’s character development was interesting and I thought it was well done.

Overall, it was interesting, but with the repetition it got very confusing and a bit dull.

The Cruel Prince was a book I said I would never read because I thought it was a romance. It was only recently that I found out it was not, and that it was actually a book filled with political intrigue. I did enjoy it immensely, but I also found it a bit childish. It is definitely for younger readers. I didn’t expect it to end how it did.
I love Jude as a character and how she develops. I’m very interested to see where she goes in the future.
Cardan was a a-hole but there were times where I could tell that there was more to him than that.
I also liked the supporting characters. The role Taryn played in all of this actually shocked me.
I am really excited to continue the series and see where it all goes.
