Read for an exam.

A really interesting take on the Me-Too Movement from a slightly different perspective than we are used too, focusing on the female loved ones of the perpetrator. Really well done but considering it was a single short story, I struggle to give it more than 3 stars.  

Holy crap—Joan Didion’s writing is something else. The way this woman writes!

Her essays in The White Album perfectly capture the strange, sickening uncertainty of late-1960s America. It was a time of immense political and social upheaval—protests, assassinations, the Manson murders, the war in Vietnam—and Didion conveys the creeping dread of it all with a sharp, almost eerie clarity. Her prose is blunt yet poetic, detached yet deeply evocative, always tinged with a quiet sort of melancholy.

Each essay in this collection is brilliant, offering glimpses into a fractured, shifting country through Didion’s keenly observant, razor-sharp perspective. Love, love, love. 

This was hilarious. Cynical and sarcastic and cold as ice, yes. But absolutely hilarious! A great first taster of Andy Warhol's writing. Definitely want to read more!

Interesting to go back and have a read of Patti's earlier writing. You can really see her style evolve between here and Babel. 

I really liked what I did read...but am not in the right head space at the moment for such an abstract novel.
