UMMM currently questioning why in the world I didn’t read this book sooner?! I don’t think I can write a review to do this book justice. This should be a required reading book! Anyways let’s get into it! If you haven’t read this book & enjoy audiobooks, listen to this on audio!! Hands down, this is one of the best audiobooks I have ever listened to. The narrator is incredible and brings so much life into every single character. The story is told so well and I didn’t want to turn it off. I found myself sitting in my car for extended amounts of time after reaching my destination so I could keep listening! Starr is such a great MC and I have so much love for her. She deserves the world and I want her to have it. I really loved getting to know her and her story and how she wanted to tell the world. This is a book I will be highly recommending for the rest of my life. No matter what age you are, you should read this book. It is a beautifully written book and I’m still mad at myself for not reading this book until now!! ⠀
You need to read this book!!! Between the rivalry of families, forbidden love, amazing food, and the love of two high schoolers, this book has it all! I devoured this book and want more! I could read about Bao and Linh forever and never get enough. These are two teens who are trying to figure out who they are and happened to find love along the way. They both have pressure from their families and are trying to help in their families rival restaurants! They are two incredible main characters that you will fall in love with. This book is amazing Vietnamese representation and you get to feel so much love that they have for their culture and their family. I loved learning about their history. Also the food!! I am hungry after reading this!!
If you liked Tweet Cute, I think you will LOVE this one!

READ. THIS. BOOK. For real, you need to read this book. I honestly don’t think my review will do this book justice but I’m going to try to describe how I’m feeling after reading this. This book is so well written and was really hard to put down. This book taught me more within the first chapter than I think I learned in any of my K-12 history classes. I got this book from the library but wish I owned a copy so I could annotate it! I have like 60 photos of passages I loved and wanted to keep forever. The three chapters that I really loved / learned the most from were:⠀
⠀
-The Ivy League and the Tax Eaters ⠀
-Socialists and Quota Queens ⠀
-Go F*cking Play ⠀
⠀
But really, you will learn something new on every single page of this book. You will get angry, get upset, and feel just about every emotion that you can during this book. Ijeoma Oluo is a fantastic author and I have had So You Want To Talk About Race on hold at my library for so long & im finally next in line for it. I can’t wait to read more of her work because she has such a way with the words she writes. I can’t even explain it but if you read it I think you’ll get what I mean!! ⠀
⠀
Seriously, read this book

I really wanted to like this book but the whole thing left a weird taste in my mouth. There was so much hazing that I was like ???? What! I did so much anti hazing training in college thru Greek life that just reading about it makes me so unhappy. I was really interested in what was going to happen the whole time so I wanted to know how it ended. I guessed the killer within the first 30 pages and went back and forth a little but my original guess was correct. This book may work better for other people but I just had a problem with how these high schoolers treated everyone, treated their friends, and overall acted. They wanted to be so cool but they were just mean and excluding. Ugh, anyways, I know others loved this book but it just was not for me
This was cute! It was basically just an adorable story of Jonah and calla and that’s what I needed!! Jonah was the most likeable in this one and I really liked him! I loved the family dynamic and how the two very different families got to know each other. I cried happy tears at the end when she visited her dad and I’d probably do it again. This was overall just super cute! It was short and I read it in one sitting. It was perfect for what I needed in the moment, a really cute read. This was a perfect way to end their story I felt like! And the last line of the book HAD ME LIKE
This was a reread and I am so glad I finally reread it. I listened to this on audio for the first time and it was fantastic! The narration was so well done. I missed being a part of LJ & PKs world and I’m so happy to be doing a reread. I love reading the scenes that the book left out. especially the estate sale scene, that’s my favorite!! I’m going to be starting the second book soon and I’m excited! This series is one of my all time favorites and I can’t see that changing anytime soon!
Wow. I finished this book and all I can say is that this is a very early contender for best book I read in 2021. Please bare with me because no review I write will do justice to this book. Lila is one of the greatest YA main characters I feel like I’ve read. She is such a great girl who is going through some really rough things. This book beautifully deals with grief, heartbreak, and a friendship breakup (which is sometimes worse than a romantic breakup IMO) through the “trifecta” as she calls it, she is sent to England to get away from it all and to help her heal. She meets Orion and wow I LOVE HIM. They were the sweetest pair of “will they won’t they” and ugh it’s just so sweet. Just take my word for it and read this book please
This book made me really FEEL things. Jenny Han really writes YA romance so well. This brought me back to my 15 year old heartbreak and how much pain I felt in that moment. This isn’t my favorite storyline but I really love the characters and that’s what I love about this. My heart felt every emotion of LJ. I still feel like John Ambrose deserved better. He is such a great guy and I loved it. This series is so sentimental to me and I can’t get enough
