A pleasure to read, as usual with Bujold. Ethan is a very likeable character, Quinn is a lot of fun. Not as impactful as other books in the series but still a very good read.

A good if unequal and overstretched story supported by fantastic art by Alex Ross (no surprise). It’s very on the nose at times but with a few decent twists. Plus it puts the Doom Patrol in the limelight for a little while sit that’s a plus in my book.

So it’s good but not stellar. 3.5 stars rounded up to four because of the artwork.

A good read but not as good as Mr.Miracle. I never got engulfed in the story that much.

The “twist” is easy to guess about halfway through the book and the dialogues are meh. But it’s well structured and the art is very good. So 3.5 stars rounded up to 4.

That book took me forever to read. It’s not because of the subject matter, I can handle violence and psychological distress in a story, but because the author chose, deliberately, to have his narrator speak in a invented dialect of quasi English.

In Kubrick’s movie, it actually works better than in the book, in part due to McDowell’s stellar performance. In the book it’s relevant but slows me down. And that’s maybe my problem with it. The movie is such a formidable adaptation that I think it actually drives the message home better than the novel.

The book is more detailed, of course, but that extra material doesn’t help understanding the story really, not in my opinion anyway. So yes, this book is important and relevant but tedious to read, especially at the beginning.

A superb read. Zweig delivers a touching, smart story that really deserves reading. I won’t go into details because I feel it would be spoiling it, just go read it.

A very good read, like the whole series. Well paced with characters I know and love. The action is good, the humour too. There is some deeper stuff in it, character-wise, which I appreciate. But it doesn’t distract, it just adds a layer. It’s very well balanced.

A really great read. Certainly the most complex and deep book in the Vorkosigan saga (that I’ve read). It’s also the darkest and most violent. The whole cast of characters is present, I highly recommend that you read the rest of the series before tackling on this one.

Bujold delivered an story with perfect pacing, interesting characters with good arcs. It’s also funny at places (though not as much as other books of the series). A great sci-fi novel, from a great series.

More a study of character than anything, but beautifully executed. It’s the anti-Asimov book, almost nothing happens but the characters have many layers within them. It could get very dull but Dick’s exceptional writing prevents that. A very good read indeed.

A good storyline and solid cast of characters. It explores Gotham in a new way and makes me want to read more in the series. Quite enjoyed it.
