This was so good and I'm so sad that the series is unfinished and the next volume is the last one. My jaw was on the FLOOR with the last pages, very riveting, I know this must have hit its teen audience like crazy.

La Sed Oscura

Fernanda Aburto

DID NOT FINISH: 20%

WE WAITED SO LONG FOR THIS and it really did deliver! The connections to the original trilogy are so well thought out, even if a bit obvious but I'd I had so much fun (and suffering).

My biggest takeaway is that it sets the original trilogy as the culmination of a communal work that had been in the making for years. Revolutions might take years to consolidate, but change is inescapable and there's a long line of people carrying the torch before it can take hold.

I have to reread the main trilogy after this.

I really went from thinking this an unnecessary addition to the canon once I saw the announcement, to absolutely loving it.

What a pageturner, incredible character study.

I think my main fear going into it was that there was going to be an apologism of Snow's character, but if anything I came out hating him even more and appreciating how he might have reacted to the events of the main trilogy. You'll never get away from the sound of the woman that loved you, and all that.
