The more I think about it the more I dislike this book. The only reason I've rounded up to three stars* is because I actually enjoyed Mariana Zapata writing style to an extent, and relatively breezed through this book. The banter and 'conversations' for the most part, are completely subpar. Any attempt to be funny wasn't, my place of work, lives and breaths inappropriate sexual jokes and the ones in this book felt like a ten year old boy was making them. Not funny, only cringeworthy.

Iris, to be nice, did my head in. Dex, aesthetically ide go there, but in an attempt to make him a badass grumpy biker Mariana just gave him a big mouth and short fuse combined with maddening jealousy. He loved Iris’s little white shorts but I highly doubt Dex would be 'letting' Iris ware them out if he isn't present to 'piss on her to make clear his claim.' The plot for Under Locke, should have been easy five stars its literally everything I love, and yet. No. I even love morally grey MMC that cross every inappropriate line, and yet. No.

To be fair it was never going to end well since this book is comprised of three of my least favorite tropes; pretty little virgin, epilogue featuring a pregnancy. And last but not least the biggest thing I cant stand to read, is immature jealousy/jealousy of ex-sexual partners/ women jealous of women for no relevant reason. And now I’m just frustrated, it cant possibly be three stars* Why am I so frustrated now.

I would have read ten books just to get to this one. Are there flaws, yes. Am I over looking them? Yes. Did I potentially do next to no work today trying to read this on the sly, you bet your ass I did.

“How do you figure that?” I demand.
“It’s called intimacy, Dean. You let someone in your life, and they’re in your life. She’s not a doll you can put on a shelf until you want to play with her again. She’s gonna have her own ideas of how to do things.”

Blame my enthusiasm when starting this book and the fact that I'm not one to let the second half of a book sway my feelings and star rating all that much. Although Heroes turned around and ended up providing a lot of enjoyment I found the first few tales to be rather stale. Still worth the read, but just didn't live up to my own personal hype.
