Here it is; my OFFICIAL REVIEW !!!

It is a blessing from god to America that the Astarion BG3 girlies and the Rhysand ACOMAF girlies have not merged their forces and taken over the country yet.

The second half of this book? Absolutely marvelous. The characters glittered and the writing sparkled. I absolutely fell in love with the little found family I had heard this series praised so highly for. Enrique, Zofia and Hypnos ?? Absolutely amazing, those three. My favorites out of the entire book.
The first half? Excruciating.  But it was worth it for those last ten or so chapters! What a doozy!!! I wish I hadn’t put this off for so long, having got it as a Christmas gift.

TLDR; it was alright, nothing to write home about. I might continue the series, but it’s not something I *need* to do immediately.

Much better the second time around. I found myself sympathizing more with Connell than Marianne, which is similar to my first read of this book back in December. Had fun buddy reading this with my friend, I think it adds a lot to the story and themes and whatnot when you have someone to discuss it with.

Just as terrible as the first one, with almost a hundred extra pages of torture. I do not understand why I read this garbage, honestly. Will I inevitably read the third one? Likely. Do I like/feel particularly connected to any of the characters? Absolutely not, I think they are all insane caricatures of what are supposed to be people.

Another required read for school. An absolutely hopeless book that I actually really liked most of the time. Not enough to say I enjoyed it, though. I think it was a good thing to be required to read, as it had important topics, but oh my goodness was this book dark and sad.

What the hell 💀💀💀💀
This was a required read, and probably my favorite one so far. This book was wild, and I will forever have fond memories of going on sparknotes every chapter to try and make sense of its utter nonsense.
The ending of chapter eight got me, because
why the fuck did Gatsby, my homeboy, my main man, have to get shot? 😔

The Song of Achilles

Madeline Miller

DID NOT FINISH: 56%

I still love Madeline Miller!! I just
a) hated every character

b) am lowkey in a slump right now

I honestly should have loved this, and I did enjoy it for a little while at the beginning. But it very quickly turned into Patroclus just gushing about how perfect Achilles is, and I felt like we didn’t ever get to know Patroclus, at least not in the portion I read. Maybe I’ll give this another shot when I’m more in the mood for it.

This Is How You Lose the Time War

Max Gladstone, Amal El-Mohtar

DID NOT FINISH: 33%

This book and I are, unfortunately, not meant to be. No matter how much I enjoy the writing of both authors, I cannot find it in myself to really click with this book. Maybe I’ll give it another shot—third times the charm and whatnot—but I honestly doubt it.
