This story follows two of our characters Grace and Flor, their unexpected acquaintance and how they deal with the society and their own feelings as well.
Thankyou Netgalley for providing me with the review copy in exchange for an honest review. All views are my own and is not influenced in any way.
First of all, I picked this book up because Chandler Ainsley was talking about this on booktube and I was intrigued. The fact that this book has a cis and a trans character as main focus is making me really happy! This is my first time ever reading a queer graphic novel and my expectations were set high. Second, I don't know what it is, but I am really drawn to the art style this book has! It looks like a pencil shading first draft, but it has so much character to it and I really liked it. I think this can be categorized as a f/f relationship since both our main characters identify themselves as females.
Now coming to the actual storyline. I would say this was a really simple yet a cute portrayal of our characters plotting something they shouldn't be doing, and getting caught. It was fun to read and it also dealt with discussing topics on self discovery and how the society views people who does not fit a standard they have set. It was really refreshing to read about the struggles anyone goes through when they feel like an outcast even in their own skin.
With all that being said, this book had so much potential to discuss about what the characters want, how they feel about themselves and their own identity. But to my opinion it was not what I expected it to be and it was slightly disappointing. It was in no means bad, but not what I expected since it had so much potential. It's a very short graphic novel with a heist plot, but could have done better with how the dialogues went.
Overall, I am really glad I picked this book up, it was really fun, cute and a refreshing read. If you want to pick up a queer graphic novel with diverse main character representation, definitely give this one a try. I think you will enjoy it !

This story follows a family of witches who has to protect their magic and be nice to their Witch hunting neighbours. It deals with how the girls deal with acceptance, family bonds, envy and a bigger threat that is destroying everyone in their town is the main concept of this story!

First, I really love how this shades over the story of Little women as a retelling but with some fantasy twist to it! I loved all the characters and how each of them has their own unique personalities. The story had a really nice flow to it and the art style was really amazing! I am a huge fan of art style like this and it just made my reading experience even better!
.
The second was how each character had their own amazing character arc. This is a very short graphic novel that holds a plotline, character introductions, and a story structure! You get to see how each character starts out, and how they up overcoming their fears and end up helping each other and in turn banishing the evil lurking behind them ! ( Literally ! ) Also, the witch hunter neighbours? I must say they along with out witches make a really fun pair ! But I loved the fact that it was not romanticized and paved way to a good friendship. It might be more, but you don't feel like it while you are reading the book.
.
With that being said, I think there were a few loose ends with how the story ended. Few characters were introduced but they didn't have the proper exit ( If that makes any sense? ) Plus, at times you feel like a lot of things happen in a single page and it's quite difficult to grasp what is happening. I guess you could say it felt like the story flow was broken because of that. It might not be that way to you, but I felt that way. That in no way affected my reading experience, but I would have liked this book even more, if that was not the case.
.
Overall, I really loved the relationship between the characters, the family bonding, the story flow, the art style was beautiful. If you are a fan of retelling, or you have ever read Little Women, or just want a quick graphic novel to read, check this book out! I definitely had a very good time reading this book !

This story is set in a very futuristic Earth where mankind is immortal ( It's a super cool concept and you need to read the book to understand it ) and is stagnant. We follow our main character Krishna who plays a key role in how the world came to be, and how the threats now arising are endangering the future residents of Bhoomi ( Name of the future Earth after 2 million years ) and how he along with his friends figures out a way to save it and accept his destiny.

I received this book from the author for review in exchange for my honest opinions. All views are my own and is not influenced in any way.

Okay, first of all, the fusion between the concept of Mahabaratha and the futuristic technologies was really intriguing. The way this book started with the description of a butterfly for a whole page was really something to appreciate! The character introductions were really good, and their characteristics were quite distinguishable. The way the story was written and the flow of the words was done, caught my eye and it made it even more interesting to read about the story.
.
Now coming to the plot, the book started with our main character Krishna in the futuristic Earth also called Bhoomi. The way this world is introduced is through his narrative and you get to experience a lot of surprises along the way as well! He is a technical genius who is also responsible for keeping the people of Jambu-Dhweep alive after the apocalyptic event that pushed man-kind to their limit. The story then progresses in finding out a new threat that puts the existence of them all in jeopardy, and how Krishna along with his group try to find a way and help the people evade this. The first half of the book was figuring out what is happening, and exploring the new world and understanding the society as well. But towards the end of it, you feel the plot being rushed, and you don't get to grasp what is happening. The pacing till 60% of the book is quite good and after that it feels rushed and the wrapping up of the story feels forced towards the end as well. And that ending!! I am so happy this is a series, otherwise I might cry from that ending!! I hope to read the next book as well and get some of my questions answered !!

Coming to the characters, Mohan's character is strong, confident, fact driven, loyal and annoyingly charming. His character along with his partner in crime at work Mohan makes for a wonderful pair!! I loved the relationship between them both, and especially their trust. The characters all get their own scenes to mark their presence and have us as readers get a taste of their personalities. But, I would have loved to see some character developments or just some kind of a backstory to get attached to them as characters as well. The character I was most attached to was Krishna, and it makes sense because we spend time with him the most. Second best was Vallabha, and you need to read the book to see why 😏
.
But overall, I really loved how the concepts & names incorporated from one of my favourite epic stories Mahabaratham and how this book gave a twist to it , and also delivered a very important message along with it as well! If you are a fan of Indian Mythology, retelling or just mythological fiction, give this book a go!! I was really surprised to how much I really liked this story!!

This book revolves around Rudra, who is facing the wrath of the British army invasion of India and is also trying to figure out the mystery behind the death of his father and the people around him. It also combines the concept from Ramayana (one of my fav epic saga) and the British invasion which is a really interesting combination !
Thank you so much to the author for providing me with a review copy in exchange for an honest review. All views are my own and is not influenced in any way.
First of all, the base concept of combining two very different things, one an epic story happened eons ago, and one history event that changed the fate of many countries, is very intriguing. That was the first thing that attracted me to the story. The story starts with what happened after the Epic battle between Rama and Ravana was won, and how the concept of Sons of Hanuman came into picture. Without giving much away, the first chapter is what sets the tone to the entire story and it was done quite well !
Now coming to the plot structure, the way this story progressed was not really something you would expect. There are a lot of things you get to discover along with out main character Rudra, and sometimes it doesn't make sense. The fact that his mind voice and the actual dialogues are written in the same format was quite confusing. The flow of the story was not helping with the plot. Sometimes you wonder what the story is trying to convey. But despite all of that, you get the answers you are looking for, just not in your conventional story flow way. I was slightly disappointed with that alone. I think with the concept this book had, there could have been much more done with how the story unfolded.
Coming to the characters, I am not sure I have any favorites, but I loved the character of Samsheer(Rudra's uncle). There were a lot of characters introduced, and they all play their own part, but I think his character was the wholesome one with a lot of character depth. I don't know whether I like Rudra or not. His character traits are exactly what you generally see in a teenage boy. You have a kingdom to save, a monster to kill, but the moment you see a girl all you think about is her. It was actually really funny to navigate through his thoughts but irritating as well. I think a little more character introductions, depth to more of the characters introduced would have been better.
Overall, I really loved what this book had to bring to the table, the concepts were really good, I was not a big fan of the writing style, but it was not hindering my reading experience, the character range was quite good, and especially that ending!. If you are a fan of mythology, or history, I thin you would really love the mix between the two that was done in this book.
