Okay! I DID NOT expect that ending 😂😂 I mean maybe that's why I loved this book so much??

It is not usual to read a book that immerses you in the story so much that you forget what is true and what is fiction, and Romanov did it for me. Mostly everyone knows how the Romanov family history went in reality , and this is a twist to the actual story and a look inside to what might have happened. It has a little fantasy element introduced, and it makes it really interesting. I read her first book Fawkes earlier this year, and I am obsessed with that book as well!

I received an arc e-copy of this book from the publisher Thomas Nelson via Netgalley. All opinions are my own and are not influenced in any way.

I loved so many things about this book. The characterization of the family was amazing, and I loved how the book started!. The relationship between the family, and the situation they are in were well explained. I absolutely loved my time with Natsya and how she views everything. This story is told from her perspective mostly, and it deals a lot with teen emotions and how she is forced to grow up quickly for her family. The second was the setting of the story. It's not purely romance , but the romance in it will make you want to root for them. I was sitting at the edge of my bed screaming at the top of my lungs when they smiled at each other!! The writing was really beautiful and I really connected with the story. I am obsessed and I can't help it.
.
With that being said, there are a lot of people who don't know the actual history of the Romanov family or the Russian culture. So a little back story on how the family situation came to be, and why certain things were done with respect to history would have been better. Since I was already familiar, I could read this and understand what they were mentioning. But for first time readers, it might have been confusing.

Apart from that this book really deals with patience, and forgiveness and I absolutely loved the ending. What you aspire to be, is what happens. Especially how all the characters come together even at the time of despair, and how love have the power to overcome even the worst situation. The ending really made me cry. And I ship the main characters absolutely with all of my heart! I love reading a good romance and this one? Omg nothing ever happens, but you feel the electricity through the pages.. I am actually obsessed, I will fight you in this, I am not even kidding.
.
Overall, this was an amazing retelling of sorts and I can't wait for the others to read it !! I especially loved the Acknowledgement section which explains you a lot of what is real and what was fictional & the discussion questions! It's these small things that makes this book amazing 💕

The book was going so well and it was really creepy at times and then the ending happened.. I am not sure which one I find sacrier. 🙈🙈 But overall, I loved it !!

My Rating : 4🌟

This book revolves around our main character Alice who is a witch working as an Agent dealing with other supernatural beings ( kind of like FBI but for non humans ). And when she is reached out by the Alpha wolf to find his missing wolf, things go awry and how she deals with the situation and her attraction towards the beings around her is the base of the plot.

Thank you so much Taylor Aston for sending the review copy and Sasha (@readandreviewtours) for arranging . All thoughts are my own and not influenced in any way.

First, I absolutely loved the characters and relationship between Alice and her bestie Sam.
Alice is really strong, confident and definitely will not take orders from those who do not respect her thoughts.
Sam is a bundle of joy, carefree, charismatic and will cut your throat if you mess with Alice. He is a shapeshifter who can take the form of a Leopard and that is awesome.
.
Second, the really liked how the plot flowed. The story starts with a brief history on what she actually does, and paves way for the reader to understand her character more. Then it comes to the plot where it actually starts. The pacing was really good and it kept you wanting to read more and know what happens to her. When you come to the characters I love, I think I am partial and would say Sam is my bae, I would marry him in an instant and I will fight you on it.
.
With that being said, I would have loved this plot structure even more if there were not so many characters introduced at the same time. This plot deals with a lot of concepts that are new to the readers and the way the characters were introduced to us was slightly confusing. Also, there were few places where a conversation will just have pronouns in them ( Which gets confusing because we are dealing with multiple characters) You figure it out in a while, but that just hinders your enjoyment level in my opinion. The plot is not entirely new, but it deals with the story in a different way, so it doesn't feel repetitive.

*My thoughts - SPOILERS*
Okay, coming to the main point. I absolutely loathe Rex as a character. He is arrogant, confident and wants others to not ask him any questions. She challenges him, and that makes him angry? I get he is the alpha, but the way he treats Alice is a BIG no for me. The fact that the attraction between them seems forced is a further turn off. The only way she is attracted to him is because of the bracelet he gives her (At Least I hope that is the case. I will protest if she feels attracted to him.).Also the fact that he comes to Alice just because someone said his mate ( who will be a powerful witch) would be the one to help him? Whyyyy.. BUT, on the other hand, Riley is mysterious, mature, charming, also confident, and an absolute sweetheart in a very Riley way ( I hope it makes sense ). He makes sure Alice is safe, acts mature, and respects her thoughts and feelings. I feel chemistry even without anything happening between them! That's what I like between two characters. I am still curious to know what happened to the two of her friends from work though! *END OF SPOILERS*

Since this is the first book in a series, we have a lot of questions and lose ends so that it can pave way to the next book. The book does not end in a cliffhanger per se, but I was really really mad that we do not know what happens to one character after that ending! Overall, this book had good characters, simple writing, good plot structure and flow, and a character you can absolutely love. If you are a fan of paranormal fantasy, and want a simple one to read, this is the one for you!I really enjoyed my time with it.

I seriously cannot get over how beautiful the writing is!! And To be honest, I absolutely loved where this story is going.. There are lot of lose ends and questions.. But I really hope the 3rd book makes me cry 😂

My Rating : 4🌟

Is it weird to say this book did not make me cry?? I still felt bad, but I felt happy for the characters more!

My Rating : 5🌟
