It's a nice read where the seperate strands get intertwined. Relies a bit too heavily on the idea of nature over nurture for me. And I am just not getting the title, as it seems so much better to just call is 'The Villa Dante'.
This man is such an expert in his field. He can take the legends and myths and weave them in our everyday fabric. He does it over and over again in different ways, and it is just perfect.
I love how it starts and the stories are led out for us to find later and connect. It's a great piece of work.

I kinda knew what I was getting into, but sometimes I just like to compare books to their movies. The view is a lot more detailed in the book of course, and a bit more kind.
The book does a lot right, but also just bugs me at times. Like the story idea is fine, but the way we go from regular lives to absurdity is just a bit too much. And the halfway cut in the book with the short stories was a bit confusing. Just a tad too many short stories as well. I feel they weren't necessary as the stage had already been set.
I usually like to read classics, because they usually are classics for a reason. In this case, I would recommend anybody to just get an abridged version. I think if you slim this story down to just the story, it is just a 100 pages long. There are so many sidesteps, so many elaborations, and a bit of the information is a tad outdated.
Maybe i've been reading too many of these, they seem to start to blend over the years. The story is alright, but it didn't stand out to me.
If you are interested in reading it, it does not have a happy ending. Seems relatable to my life, at every turning point you might think it can't get any worse than this, but oh yes it can.

It's one of those intrigues, Vermeer painted a lot of women that are not know. Just every day people. A bakers daughter? A maid? He captured people but we humans gravitate towards beauty and the girl with the (its not a) pearl earring is beautiful. So of course we are curious as to who she is. And so this story came into being. It is what it is, nothing more and nothing less.
No idea what I expected, not sure if I wanted it. Not the every day read for sure, great use of language.
Oh how awfully wrong so many people are, knowing that makes this book very enjoyable and funny. Also that ever returning dream

of every boy that their seed can be the source of good.
I just need to finish this whole dang series one way or another
