The story has promise but this seems just the beginning of a book. The first half of this book just seems a start of getting to know characters and guessing what there motives might be. Then when you think things are happing you are 75% in and at 95% you get a nice plot twist which opens up the way to the second book.
It is an easy writing style and this book did spark my curiousity so I do wish to find out what is going to happen next. Still I do hope that the storyline will progress more in the next book.

I'm trying to be invested in my sisters school work and she had this book to review. I liked it, it is cute and on the boarder of make believe. It might have been less necessary to have the whole old lady telling a story from her youth thing, but still it was an alright book.
Sometimes the movie is better than the book, but than again a lot of things are better if you have Gerard Butler.
I know the movie made a few changes compared to the book but I feel they are justifiable. The book might be a bit more realistic, you can't always get what you want even if life is shitty at the moment. The main character just didn't match my own personality in any way so it was a bit tough at times.

I love Neil Gaiman his style, so I keep finding more and more to read that I like. This story is a nice little almost fairytale but with some nice hidden messages.
Biggest downside is that I bought it as a hardcover but it is just an ugly cut book.

I bought this in Philly because the cover appealed to me and the shop keeper recommended it to me.
It was an amusing read but it didn't blow me away as I had hoped. I love animals and had my fair share in life so the stories are very relatable.

I loved the movie as a kid, I loved saving Mr Banks and I just needed to read this at some point in my life. I liked the stories, they are fun.
The character of Mary is different from the movies but being practically perfect in every way can have it's toll.

Doctor Who: 12 Doctors, 12 Stories
Eoin Colfer, Charlie Higson, Richelle Mead, Alex Scarrow, Derek Landy, Holly Black, Philip Reeve, Patrick Ness, Marcus Sedgwick, Neil Gaiman, Michael Scott, Malorie Blackman
These are very very good.
Every story comes from a different incarnation of the Doctor and you can feel it, you can see it happening. They come to life. I had a few good laughs from these stories, they were brilliant.

This year this book seemed all the hype so I tried it. I still don't know what to think of it. For me it did not live up to the love that people are giving it.
Eleanor is a troublesome character that is just getting by and she just doesn't realise it. In the way that she doesn't realise that she needs help does maybe kinda relate to myself a little bit, but this book just gives having a few character flaws such a depressing outlook. It was purely by chance that things turn out for the better.

I love to travel and some books give you a wif of a different culture. It can be hit or miss, but rebelious Indian girls who grow up in London has just enough of home combined with different that this was just a great read.
Sometimes you have heard of a book and it just sounds intriguing, that was the reason that I picked this one up. It was a fun read, very light, heartily, unlikely and funny. Nice change of pace of most books.
