Not big on short stories, but I enjoyed it and made me sad and mad for all the things women have gone through

Interesting insight into the life of an average Korean millenial woman. Although I had expected more, it was a quick read

Very interesting insight about the power of big pharma, but it was very technical and I just didn't understood it, but the parts I read were worth it

Still good on a reread. Very good if you love a bit of weirdness and horror

I never read poetry, but I loved this collection. Beautifully written poems and musing on girlhood, divinity and late night thoughts about all the dark things you think about at night - a very intimate look into Dakota Warren's thoughts, of which I am looking forward to read more. Don't forget to pay homage to Aphrodite when you kiss the bathroom floor.

Mister Oscar Wilde knew how to write a book, the prose is beautiful, so that I have underlined half of the book. The story is worthwile (except for Lord Henry) and unique, and has stood the test of time for a good reason.

2nd read: I hate men and society who make women feel this way. Horrificly modern I'm afraid. Made me mad and sad the way women were so mistreated.

1st read: I won't be rating this because I feel like I haven't been fair to this book, like I haven't given it the dedication it deserved. It is clearly well written, to the point some sentences made me feel sick, like a punch to my stomach. Problem is that I wasn't in the right mood and headspace to read the book and don't recall reading most of it. One thing that I am sure that it is a great book, and that it deserves a proper reread from me

If you want to read this book solely because it is being recommended as similar to The Secret History or some dark academia story, you migt get dissappointed. However, it is still worth the read. When one of the death girls feels more lost than ever, she decides to go to the house of the famous dead poet she idolised, which changes the atmosphere in that house. No much happens in the book in terms of plot -  rather, it is an exploration of people dealing with grief and sorrow, and how people affect each other in unexpecting ways. Meg Wolitzer's writing makes it feel like you just dropped into someone's life, but the writing makes you keep on reading and is able to make you feel like the people whose life you have just fallen into
