What a wonderful children's book. Never read it as a child but now I wish I had

The story was not my cup of tea, but I like Joan Didion's writing style. Perhaps I find her non-fiction more interesting

Too many misogynist undertones and reading up on other reviews it gets worse with graphic depictions of traumatic experiences

Beautifully written moving story about a first queer love in a little strongly religious little town in Ireland in the 90s

Didn't dislike it as much as I thought I would, still not my thing. It might seem like a little thing but the lack of quotation marks just made me go through the book too fast and made the text feel so flat. In my opinion it also didn't quite work as much as a literary device of what they're saying and what they're thinking intertwining. Maybe I will revisit sometime in the future but for now it seems like Rooney's writing style is not for me

Women murdering abusers and sexual predators because dead men can't rape. The POVs were very interesting and loved the use of a plot twist in this book. 

Wonderful story of a woman ttying to find herself among a family mystery and recollecting memories. This book was great for getting out of a reading slump, fast paced and an interesting mystery. I feel like this book could've been longer (while I often think books should be shorter) and it would've enhanced this wonderful story even more. While for me personally the ending didn't come with quite the shock, I was still pleasantly surprised and moved by the story

I enjoyed this book thoroughly, even though I cannot relate at all. It feels like a fun woman telling stories of experiences with people on a late summer's night with a few drinks.

Very disappointing. Half the book is sort of stream of conscious of the fatally uninteresting and unlikeable main character trying to social climb rrying to get through a week without a place to stay, which could've led to interesting experiences, but alas failed so
