This book is violent, gritty, and extremely graphic. A lot of people will hate it. I almost quit at the beginning, but I'm glad I didn't. Definitely a read at your own risk book.

i am afraid
of everything

V

Who's afraid of the big bad wolf?
Not me.
Fuck the wolf."

"When I was growing up, people taught me all the things I should do to avoid being harmed by men: No short shorts. No belly shirts. Stay with a group. Don't go out alone. Don't say anything if a guy catcalls on the street. Don't be too quiet. Don't be too loud.

But are people telling guys how to not harm girls? It's one thing to tell a girl how not to get raped or harassed- is anyone telling guys not to rape or harass us?"

This book is exceptionally quotable:

"Don't worry, Snickers McMuffin (cat) hasn't been biding his time, glaring at you from behind the couch, waiting for you to take your last breath to be all, "Spartans! Tonight we dine in hell!"

"For many years, a wartime funeral procession ended not at the grave, but at the dead house. Normally the mourners would head straight to the burial site, but if the ground was frozen the body had to wait for the spring thaw in the afterlife equivalent of the DMV."

Slow start but a SPOOKY finish 🕸

"I had a little bird,
And its name was Enza.
I opened up the window,
And in flew Enza."
