So fun to go back to the stories of my childhood.

Pippi is iconic.

I’m convinced that Pippi is a variant of Anne of Green Gables.

I wanted to love this book but the characters only had one trait and the “romance” happened so quickly that the characters spent over half the book in love. There was no tension or depth in the novel which really disappointed.

I have said it before and I’ll say it again: McManus is Queen!! Every single novel is addictive and in depth. This was such a stunning conclusion to the trilogy and while I will miss the characters, I’m glad they’re finally getting a break.

Imagery-filled poems that I loved!

This was probably not the best thing to read when I’m trying to ignore school but nevertheless the poems were really good!

So many familiar favorites!

I would like to preface this many saying that I have not read any of the other books in this series. I also received an ARC and these opinions reflect my own.

Unfortunately, I am disappointed. The time jumps and flashbacks confused me and I did not find the romance to be compelling. I would recommend this book to others but it was just not for me.

The hype did not disappoint. I adored the romance and the wartime backdrop. The ending has me wishing the second book was out already.
