It was so refreshing diving back into the murder mystery genre with the queen of YA mysteries. I really enjoyed the story and characters and in no was saw the many plot twists coming.
Is this the book that has rescued me from my reading slump? Yes, yes it is. The stakes are so much higher in this book and for once I actually like that. Normally, second books feel like a drag but this one didn’t. Tessa and Corrick have the best chemistry and I loved all the new characters.
I was hooked from the beginning and read this all in one sitting. I liked that it was a short read but actually found myself wishing that it was longer so that events didn’t seem so rushed. The narrator was very detached from the characters and showed everyone’s pov at once which was confusing, I would have enjoyed a more personal book a bit more. But it was by all means a good book.
Great book to read if you need a basic refresh on book one.
Nice horror for October. Could have been a little more creepy.
I’m so sad that this series is over but boy was that the perfect ending! I found myself unable to stop reading and thought it was the best book of the whole trilogy. Emilia’s arc finishes in such a satisfying way and the romance was top tier.
The beginning was fantastic, the middle was eh, and the end was great.
It was a solid book! I love fairytale retellings (probably why I wrote one) and this one was a fantastic twist on the classic little mermaid. I especially loved the ending.
