I liked seeing the two girls team up for this one. I like the dynamics in this volume.

I feel like this is a really solid choice for someone who's starting to be able to read short passages in Korean. The vocabulary can be a bit niche, but for the most part they repeat in the stories and there's a lot of good vocabulary that I feel like I use commonly. The stories are interesting enough, and it's easy to pace yourself through this book and use the stories for review/reading practice again later.

Overall I liked the prompts in this book. Some were a bit more involved than others, but for the most part I found them to be unique/thoughtful and easy to work with.

This was just not good. I'm not a huge slasher fan to be fair, but even I can get behind a well written or funny story. This story was riddled with over-explaining, no tension whatsoever, no mystery, uninteresting characters, and lackluster gore/horror. Def one of my least favorite reads this year.

Generally just uninteresting. I get that this story is supposed to make you feel like you're going on the journey with the family, but honestly, I'd rather be in a casket too than do that.

This was just boring. I didn't find it to be original or cute, and overall it was very lackluster.

Boring and overplayed. You could find all of these recommendations online for free, and I'm fairly sure anyone who's read one self help book/article has already heard of the majority of these suggestions.

One of my favorite shorts. I feel like the tension in this story is just so well done and builds on itself in an awful and fantastic way. Def one that I think about from time to time.

I feel like this is a very good book to start with when it comes to race theory/de-colonization. The author does a fantastic job of breaking down big topics and using common examples and clear explanations to communicate information. This book is very accessible.

Another fantastic novella by Vo. I’m quickly becoming obsessed with this universe and their writing style. I can’t wait to see if there’s more to this world!
