I liked the atmosphere and description in this book, but felt like as a ghost story it was fairly predictable and boring.
This is one of those books where I preferred the movie. Bridget was much more relatable and enjoyable on screen than on paper. I think I found her obsession with her weight the most annoying.
This was a very uninteresting and boring one shot story in the Halloweentown universe. Would maybe be good for elementary school readers, but possibly a bit dated.
This was not as interesting of an adventure as it was made out to me to be. Definitely bogged down by paragraph after paragraph of niche nautical and scientific lists.
In the grand scheme of “classic” literature, I don’t like much of it. However, I really enjoyed this. I thought it was very lyrical in a way that made me feel uncomfortable, and made me feel trapped in a similar way. I certainly share the fears reflected in this book.
A nice start to the series! Very fast paced and fun, with the usual amount of stress from a sports related story. It kinda reminds me of The Foxhole Court but actually charming.
All the new characters were kinda overwhelming, but I liked seeing the developments with the mains!
This ended up being darker than I anticipated, but not in a way I didn’t like. I really enjoyed the story and characters! It was well paced and really funny. A great read!
This story was fairly suspenseful, but I felt like the characters were hard to get into. Not the best YA horror I’ve read, but I thought it had some cool concepts and scenes.
This is one of my favorite Ito stories! I just think that’s creepy enough to be compelling, and that the visuals are haunting. I actually listened to a dramatic reading of it and the voice they used for the woman still haunts my dreams.
