Certainly one of the more hauntingly disturbing shorts from Ito in my opinion. The body horror is top tier and I think about it often. The story is one of the stronger shorts for sure.

I really enjoyed the weirdness of this story, and the ending for me felt very superhero/antihero origin story. This is one I feel like deserved multiple volumes and exploration, but at the same time I really liked the way it ended. The characters were pretty interesting, and the plot was coherent as well. It was surprisingly linear and clear for an Ito plot.

The shorts at the end were the usual mixed bag. I liked The Licking Woman and thought it was creepy with an interesting plot. I forgot what Mystery Pavilion was about and had to look it up so that should explain that story.

This is probably one of my favorite Ito shorts, just because it's so disturbing. The twist could be seen as predictable, but I didn't see it until the last second, so I'm overall very pleased with this story.

One of Ito's more memorable stories, I think the aesthetics/art/atmosphere for this story show him at his best. It's pretty creepy and I'm fairly sure it worked it's way into my dreams.

This story really fucked with me and I think about it a lot when I'm outside and see things flying overhead, so I feel like that makes it a 5/5 for me.

This isn't my favorite short of Ito's. I think that the concept is cool, but a bit rushed. I also don't fully follow or believe the doctor's decisions or motivation the way I do with other characters in other shorts similar. Because of this I couldn't really suspend my belief the way I usually do.

I really loved this! Yon reminds me a lot of my cat, and I found myself laughing out loud quite a bit. Overall it's less plot driven and more slice of life, but with Ito's signature style. I thought it was a cool novel for him to do, and really enjoyed the change of pace form his other works.
