I just don't care frankly. I'm not particularly disturbed and the body horror/sickness seems to really take a backseat to the character drama.

I finished this audiobook in a day and cried quite a bit by the end of it. A soothing epistolary novel about the importance of friendships, good food, and being brave enough to start conversations with strangers about said food.

This book is so boring actually.

A bit more exciting than Fellowship. I didn’t realize the battle for Helm’s Deep was such a small part of this book. But I loved the Ents and seeing so much more of Treebeard.

I started out not really enjoying this book, and I did have an issue for awhile keeping the timeline straight in my head since there’s a lot of time jumping between chapters. The story alternates between the past and more present times. But by the end it made me so emotional and now I’m crying because this book is just full of complicated feelings and love. A beautiful familial story that explores hardships and the difficulty of living with your own pain and the pain of others.

Overall the characters were cute and I liked having older characters as well. The time jumps were a bit confusing to me and I wasn’t completely hooked by the story either.

I feel like it was hard to suspend my disbelief at points due to the characterization. But overall I enjoyed the humor and the growth of women centric relationships in this book. It was entertaining and tackled difficult subject matter very well.

Biblical. The author is hilarious and vulnerable. This book was one of the most affirming things I've ever read, and roots the theory in the author's life and black women's daily experience. A book I'll be rereading over and over.

Some of the chapters felt a bit too cyclical, but I really liked how the author brought back some many common issues to how they relate to feminism. I think this is a really solid book for applying feminism to daily life and human struggles. The audiobook was read by the author and was well done.
