Introduction
Dark Obsession is the eighth installment in the "Pure/Dark Ones" series and I absolutely have loved these so much here. I will say that I really have enjoyed the way that this author wrote this one. I think the more that I read this series, the more that I fall in love with it and in this one we are introduced to new characters and the first mention of the possibility of DRAGONS (which I know is true as she has a dragon series haha so I hope that they are connected....any of you love this author let me know because I need to know !!) But I absolutely LOVED this book. These two just captured my heart and I honestly don't think I can wait long in picking up the 9th book because its the hero's dads book and many he won my heart too!

The Main Protagonists
The Hero: Maximus, Commander of the Chosen
-Commander For the Dark King
-Alpha Male
-Vampire
-Shape Shifter-Lion

The Heroine: Ariel Kyles
-Born an Experiment
-Merged with a Panther
-Latino
-Kick Ass
-Military Background

Summary
Dark Obsession is a story that begins with our delightful hero, Maximus and his pet or companion I should say. While out on a routine mission meeting up with Ariel Kyles, who is an government agent but also was created in the lab and working for Medusa, she is merged with a black panther's spirit and Ariel who was once without a soul, is now having desires, feelings and raw needs and her connection to Maximus is becoming more tangible than ever imagined. But Maximus and Ariel are on a mission together to explore his other primal side, the one that he has suppressed, and while on his journey they come across family and those living in a hidden world in the wilds of Russia. But there are secrets that out of their control and their love will be tested in ways that they could never imagine...

My Outlook
Dark Obsession was such a brilliant story that had me in love immediately with Maximus and Ariel. I just loved these two together and seeing them grow together in their relationship was so brilliantly done. Honestly, the more that I read this author the more that I fall in love. And honestly the diversity is so flawless and perfectly done. We need more romance with this type of diversity implemented because it just has such a genuine feel to it. I also adored this unique romance that is developed. There is such powerful character growth with both Maximus and Ariel. But my heart honestly broke with the beginning scene. I absolutely adored seeing these two together and the way that they assist each other on their journey. What I really loved was the way that Maximus is able to connect with his father. I don't always love flashbacks, but in this story, I really adored them. I loved the way that we get to meet Maximus' dad haha and man his story just broke me. I can't wait for his book though, because if anyone deserves a mate and to be in love, its most definitely him. I really was floored by the later part of the story, this author really blew my MIND but somehow I had faith that she would deliver the HEA and it was so well done and I can't wait to see our groups of vampires and our animal spirits come together to fight the evil Medusa.

Overall View
Dark Obsession is a story that will capture your heart, body and soul! Its a sensual paranormal romance with some fantastical realism combined that will stun you in its emotional depths, gravitate you in its sensual scenes, and leave you addicted to this beautiful world building that is pure magic! A TREASURE OF A FIND!

Introduction
Infinite Possibilities is the second book in the Amy Benson series and this is the conclusion to our duo featuring this couple. Immediately you are going to want to immerse yourself into this one, especailly after that cliffhanger from the ending from book one. It immediately takes off from where book one ends so I would recommend these together as if they are two books if you aren't fans of cliffhanger so that it doesn't feel so intense. I will say that I really enjoyed the conclusion, it had some angst I wasn't a true fan of, but the story overall was a true win of a read for me.

Summary
So in the conclusion with Liam and Amy, we have Amy that is on the run from Liam. She misinterpreted something he said to his friend, and now she thinks he is her enemy. But when he finds her in New Mexico and takes her to safety in New York City, she is bowled over. She still thinks there is no way that she can keep him safe. But now Amy is determined to fight for herself and the man that she loves even if that means having to betray and hurt him to keep him safe, but Liam will prove that his love is unconditional and he will always fight for her!

My Outlook
I will keep my thoughts on this a bit short, but I will say that I absolutely had a fun time with this one. I couldn't help myself in having to pick this one up. I really truly enjoyed this one here and everything that the author built. Now I wasn't a big fan of the angst in the beginning of the story to be honest. But it is understandable why it was there. I am just not used to seeing it in Lisa Renee Jones books if I am being honest. Normally there isn't so much angst between the couple, so it threw me for a bit of a curveball but I still enjoyed seeing Liam and Amy find their way back together. And Liam is such a hoot, I love how he just sees through Amy and just has faith in their love even when she hurts him. But she definitely needs a man like Liam, willing to walk through fire to protect her and make sure she stays safe and knows she is loved. There is such beautiful emotion that is implemented in this installment, and I can't wait to see Passionflix adapt this one.

Overall View
I found Infinite Possibilities to be an endearing, edgy filled story that will have you living in the moment with Liam and Amy and be cheering these two on as they work their way towards their HEA that is justly deserved.

Introduction
Escaping Reality is a book that is part of a series that has been on my loose TBR for a long while, but when I saw the adaptation of it on Passionflix, I just had to pick it up. I will say that this book just instantly grabbed up my attention and my goodness I was so easily swept away by this story that just captivated me from the first page. There is something about Lisa Renee Jones and her capability of just pulling me so quickly into a story. I absolutely adored what was delivered in this one, and the intensity of the romance was brilliant. It's one of the aspects of this author's writing that I just love the most. I will say that, if you are looking for a sensual romantic suspense, then look no further than with Lisa Renee Jones.

The Main Protagonists
The Hero: Liam Stone
-Alpha
-Dominant in the Bedroom
-Billionaire
-Architect
-Protective

The Heroine: Amy Bensen
-On the Run
-Family lost
-Loves History
-Lots of secrets, not easy to trust

Summary
It all begins with our heroine, Lara, who is now Amy Bensen. Her family was murdered, and she was instantly forced to having to go on the run. For six years she has been living in hiding, wanting to know the secrets of the past but not able to afraid it would put her at risk. She is now forced to go to a new city and new life in Denver. On the plane she meets up with Liam Stone, a sexy architect and they have an instant connection. But while there is a passion between them, she doesn't know who she can trust and if Liam could be her salvation or the greatest threat to her. But while Amy works through her trust issues with Liam, she wonders if she will ever have the peace she has been looking for...

My Outlook
I absolutely adored this book in every way! I was instantly drawn into it. Now the show literally adapts this book basically word for word. So, I was able to breeze through the first half, only reading the parts that we didn't get to see in the movie, like the thoughts of Amy and her impressions as she goes through the story. But if you love well done adaptations, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND it on Passionflix, they literally stick to the plot dialogue and even the small details.

The story itself is so captivating and I was easily drawn into this edgy romance that kept my attention all the way through. I was so drawn into the connection between Liam and Amy. And my goodness, Liam just had my heart. From the beginning he was all in for the heroine, and I loved how he knows she has secrets and is so patient and understanding. Just working on building that bridge of trust between them because she is not able to. He is the type of alpha male that I love to read the most. The way he is so intense, protective, willing to die for type of intensity. The way he is willing to get her what she needs, and its not about buying her love but its his love language. You can see that he wants to protect and provide for the heroine without asking anything in return. It takes a while for her to see that though. I did love the sensual moments that grow between them. It was so well done. There is something in how Lisa Renee Jones just writes such sensual suspense filled romances. And I definitely fell hard for this one here.

Overall View
I found Escaping Reality to be such a fascinating, addictive romance that delivered on all fronts! Its brilliantly written, secretly addictive, and sensually delivered that will only make you want more!

This was the most adorable book and it had me laughing all over the place!!! I really want this to be longer though because i fell head over heels in love with it. I just had such a solid time with this one. It is a super short novella, at 64 pages I believe or you can listen on Audible Plus. I found this to be such a fun delight to listen to even though it had a trope I don't care for too much. But the author, why do I doubt her, delivered completely for me. And it had the type of ending I prefer on such a quick read here. She really handled all aspects so well. The chemistry is HOT! Fair Warning, she really knows how to deliver on the steamy scenes. And it became so easy to relate with these characters. I just fell so hard for them.

Introduction
The Making of a Highlander is the first book in the "Midnight in Scotland" series which follows the McPherson family. In this book we follow the sister of the clan. She is a bit of a outcast in their village and then we get her match, who is a Earl under disguise of just being a plain Englishman. This story implements a vast arrays of elements that seem to seamlessly blend so well together. This was also my first Elisa Braden and I was so impressed with it. It was just overall such a delightful story that was enticing and enjoyable. I had a blast with it, and I see now why so many love this author's work, she definitely has a writing style that is endearing and something that we need more in more recently publishing historical's.

The Main Protagonists
The Hero: John Huxley
-Earl
-Aristocrat
-In hiding from English Society
-Renovation

The Heroine: Annie McPherson
-Young sister of the McPherson family
-Caregiver
-See's Ghosts/Imaginary Friend
-Highland Lass
-Bullied
-Curvy and Plain
-Cook/Baker

Summary
John Huxley is just looking to escape the stresses of English society and find some peace after being hunted by scheming debutantes who just want his wealth and title. He wants to find something more in his life. He is now hiding out in the wilds of Scotland, and working on a land dispute and then meets the Scot's stepdaughter, Annie. Annie is known as "mad annie" because she has an imaginary friend who isn't so imaginary but everyone else believes that he isn't real but to her he has been her companion. When its revealed that its her destiny to marry a Lord, she seeks out John and they do a trade of sorts. She will give him Scottish lessons on being a Highlander, and in return he will train her in being a lady so that she can appeal to a titled lord. But soon the chemistry builds between them and they discover a match they least expected to find...

My Outlook
I really had such a fun time with this and the audiobook is really superb so I do recommend listening to this one if you can. I enjoyed seeing how this romance developed and there was so much to this story that was appealing. The set up of the story was very intriguing but we also have the mix of banter, sass and sensuality that blends so well within the storyline. I wasn't sure if this author would live up to the hype, but she does entertain. I am really intrigued to see where she plans on taking this series and exploring her backlist. There were many elements to this one that just worked out so well for me. The first one is that I loved the sexy bantering. These two have such a great attraction towards each other but they also have a strong passion and the way that this author writes steam, is just perfection. Her writing style was unique and refreshing. Its not something you see much anymore in historical romance, and it was so easy to just become so comfortable with this one and just indulge in the romance. It definitely won't be the last time that I choose to pick this book up. Definitely intrigued to see more of this family because they really captured my heart within this one!

Overall View
I found The Making of a Highlander to be a well done, perfectly portrayed, illustrious detailed romance that captured my heart and had me yearning for more!

Introduction
This was such an interesting story that we have here. I absolutely had a fun time with this and was such a fun interlude of a book to read. I had a fun time with the level of angst that was implemented and the play by play between the characters. The aspects of the "pearls" was an interesting set up though. I did enjoy the writing style of this one and I think Amelia Grey can be a solid author to read that is for sure. But also nothing super significant, just an enjoyable story to relax with. I did like that this one didn't seem to have much in modernisms in it, probably because its a older book being republished? But if you love some fun regency romance, then I definitely recommend this one.

The Main Protagonists
The Hero: Alex, Marqui of Raceworth (Race)
-Aristocrat
-Marquess
-Rake
-Known for his "charm"
-Defender of "family"

The Heroine: Duchess of Brookfield
-Dowager Duchess
-Widow
-Opinionated
-Loves the country living lifestyle

Summary
This story sets of with Race and his cousin enjoying a card party at their home, when they hear of a Dowager Duchess that demands to talk with Race. When Race meets her, he doesn't expect her to be so young or beautiful. But when she demands that she gives his late grandmother's pearls to her, he refuses her. Susannah knows that the pearls belong to their family and she is determined to get them back no matter what it takes. But as Race and Susannah battle their wits out, a slow courtship begins to develop between them. But soon they will have to work together to get to the bottom of the secrets behind the pearls and if love is enough in the dare courtship that is building...

My Outlook
I really had a fun time with this one, and the bantering between them was quite a fun time. I won't say that this was my favorite historical or anything, but it was a comfortable book to just melt into and enjoy. There was some fun elements to the story that was really intriguing and really had my attention at different points. I really was drawn in mostly by the family connection with the hero and his cousins. I am definitely eager to be able to read their books. The romance itself was alright, it didn't make much of an impression on me if I am being honest. I like a pining hero but the heroine just didn't impress me at all. I didn't quite understand her side in the relationship that much. The impression that is portrayed is the hero doing all the work in it and not much being given in return.

Overall View
I found Only A Duchess Would Dare to be an intriguing story that had some solid bantering and delightful scenes that will fascinate the reader from beginning to end.

Introduction
The Warlord is the first book in the 'Rise of the Warlords" series. And this book kicks off with spicy and thrilling action and a theme of forbidden love at times. This book was intense and action packed and it really pulls you into the story right away. Gena Showalter adds her own intense flair to the story and only Gena Showalter could really make this one work so well. She definitely adds the right balance to this kick ass romance that just impressed me so much and is definitely one of my favorite reads of the year. (I know we are only in the second week of the year, but this one just checked off all the boxes for me).

The Main Protagonists
The Hero: Alaroc 'Roc' Phaethon
-Alpha
-Warlord
-Fulfills His Duty
-Almost indestructible
-Royalty

The Heroine: Taliyah Skyhawk
-Harpy
-General
-Kick Ass
-Virgin
-Sacrificed
-Sassy

Summary
Taliyah has been preparing to be the Harpy General all of her life and she also has become a fierce warrior for her people. Ever since she was sacrificed, she knew her duty and obligations and now she will need to marry the warlord, Alaroc Phaethon. Alaroc in order to receive what he needs for his people, will need to marry a virgin bride that will be sacrificed in thirty days. From the moment of their marriage, Taliyah and Alaroc have been at each other's throats while at the same time a fiery passion has been slowly building between them. As their desire ignites so does a fierce love, but who will win in the end of their never ending battle? Will love be lost or conquer in the end? 3

My Outlook
There is such a brilliance to the writing style of this one. I absolutely couldn't get enough of this one. Its also one of the best enemies to lovers romances I have ever read. It just worked so well for me, and I am SUPER picky about this trope but it just really worked. It was so interesting seeing these two come together. Gena Showalter really built their sexual tension so well. There is lots of great smexy times in this one, so fair warning if that isn't your cuppa tea. I really adored how she implemented the spice within their relationship. Its where we see other forms of intimacy begin to grow between Alaroc and Taliyah. There is also this great sense of forbidden for them to love each other especially when Taliyah is trying to kill her husband, and Alaroc having to sacrifice her in 30 days. The tension was brilliantly mastered, and the plot was well built with just the right touch of edgyness and a bit of playfulness to make it work. The world building was so well done and I was so drawn into this world that the author creates for her readers.

Overall View
I found the Warlord to be a wonderful read that captures your attention from the beginning, it builds into a tremendous crescendo of passion, zest and thrills to touch the reader deeply!

Introduction
This was a random pick if I am being honest. I was putting together a recommendation post featuring Barbarians, and somehow this one popped on my Kindle App, and I immediately grabbed it up! I just had to pick this one because I was so in the mood for some good angst and a alpha hero because I can never resist a sexy warlord. Well this book was everything that I could have hoped for and more. In fact, if you loved Johanna Lindsey's sci fi series, then you need to try this one out because it was so amazing. I just couldn't get enough of the romance, the sci fi adventure feel or the enemies to lovers (but not really an enemies to lovers if that even makes sense).

The Main Protagonists
The Hero: Warlord Darios
-Alpha Male
-Royal
-Warrior
-Fire Psychic Abilities
-Spanks his woman

The Heroine: Princess Aurelia
-Royalty
-Ice Psychic Abilities
-Sassy
-Independent

Summary
Princess Aurelia ends up being kidnapped by slavers and when she gets rescued by Warlord Darios, who also is from the same planet her people have gone to war with, she doesn't know what to expect from him. They are enemies after all, but Darios is a leader and is tired of war and the cost of it to his people. He is determined to keep the peace accord between their people. But there is a bond between Darios and Aurelia and when they join forces, they also go on the hunt to search for the betrayer that put Aurelia in danger in the first place and not everything is as it seems...

My Outlook
I absolutely adored this one here, and it just had such a fun relation to the sci fi series by Johanna Lindsey. So, if you loved those books, then you definitely must read this one here. It just had such a strong fantastical, but science fiction adventure feels to it. Now they are both humanoid, so I wouldn't consider this an alien romance, but more of a sci fi faring adventure. It does have a bit of a fated mates/marriage of convenience feeling to it. The chemistry is on point between these two. They are also both royals of sorts, so I really enjoyed how well they just click together as they understand those "leadership" roles and respect it.

Now one aspect to the story that some people may struggle with is the "spanking" element. This will NOT be for everyone haha however, I adored it. It just worked so well because its a cultural aspect to their people so I wasn't like anti the hero because of it. But the heroine is a bit of a brat at times and really acts out in some ridiculous ways where she damages the hero's home so I mean yeah I wasn't mad about it, she needed to learn about accountability and throughout the story we do see her start to really reflect on her actions and not be so impulsive. I really enjoyed the growth between the romance and just the way that even though on the surface its a enemies to lovers, but it ends up being more they become allies to friends to lovers. The hero is so protective and he looks at the situation on a deeper level than the heroine and really enjoyed his perspective.

The plot of the story was really well done, and had some solid layers to it that kept up on the surprises here and there. I really was engaged mostly from beginning to end. It had a certain flair for drama but somehow the author just made it work for me. I definitely can't wait to explore more sci fi romance from this author and wouldn't mind seeing books connected to this one.

Overall View
I was deeply enthralled by this installment, it had such a balance of fun and sexy with the right touch of suspense to keep the reader intrigue and off balance. If you are a fan of sci fi romance, sexy barbarian warlords and sassy heroines, this needs to be on your shelf!

Introduction
Answering Atlas is the third installment in the series and this is where we get Atlas' story. This book was just as charming as other MC romance that I have read from this author. I absolutely adored this one, it had such a cute flair to it. And its not dark MC or anything, so most contemporary readers will get a kick out of this one. There is something so well balanced in how Chantal Fernando writes her books, and Answering Atlas is no different. The romance was delightful and had me highly entertained all the way through. If you love fun angst, then Answering Atlas needs to be on your list.

The Main Protagonists
The Hero: Atlas
-Biker
-Twin
-Game Player
-Charming
-Sexy
The Heroine: Natalie
-Lawyer
-Driven
-Wants to date someone outside of the MC world
-Loves her family

Summary
It sets of with Natalie Ward, who is the daughter of the prez of the Wind Dragons MC. She has always been the serious one out of the family and has been wanting an identity outside of the MC world. She wants to maintain her own independence. As much as she loves her family, she wants something more from her life. Then drops in the bad boy Atlas, who is sexy and charming and makes her smile even though she wants to battle him for wits. As Atlas and Natalie work through their sexual tension and witty banter, Atlas is looking for thier enemy who has been attacking the mutual MC's and is a dangerous one. But will Natalie's career be battled with her love of Atlas and her family and put them all at risk?

My Outlook
I absolutely had a blast with this installment. Chantal Fernando is such a delight to read, and every time I pick up one of her books, it just brings a smile to my face. I couldn't seem to get enough of the angst in this one. It was so WELL DONE! And I am super picky about angst, but in this book, it was so delightful. I just couldn't seem to get enough of it. I also was so drawn into their bantering, the whole them denying their attraction and learning to be honest with each other. I do like that the hero pushed the heroine's buttons and made her reflect on herself in a very real way. I was laughing my head off through this book because of how they engaged with each other, and that is not a common experience for me, but Fernando really balanced out the humor and sexual tension so well in this one.

I really wasn't a fan with the ending though and the outcome of the "serial plot". I won't spoil what it is but It was a struggle to read and I was hoping that there would be a book for this character that is lost.

Overall View
Answering Atlas was such an endearing book and I just wanted more of it. There is a great plot line, some real lessons learns, a gravitating romance that immediately captivates the reader, and builds into a beautiful story to cheer on!

Introduction
Justice Ascending was a brilliant book and this one kept me on my toes all the way through. I absolutely adored this book so deeply and it just was everything that I could have hoped for and more. And I just couldn't put this down, I was flipping through the pages so quickly. Rebecca Zanetti definitely worked her magic in this angsty filled romance that just knocked me off my feet. Its definitely going to be a story that is edgy and packed with thrills but also delivers on deep emotion. There is something so well rounded about Rebecca Zanetti and her writing style. It just works so completely and she delivers on all fronts.

The Main Protagonists
The Hero: Tace Justice
-Texan Cowboy
-Southern Drawl
-Bad Boy
-Kinky
-Alpha male
-Warrior
-Medic

The Heroine: Sami Steel
-Kick Ass
-Soldier
-Compassionate
-Secrets
-Protective

Summary
Tace Justice is part of the Vanguard warriors, but is also their medic. But he is also suffering as he recently recovering the Scorpious Bacterium but he is suffering from side affects and doesn't want to reveal the truth to anyone. But then he is called to action to work together with his nemesis of sorts...Sami Steel. Sami and Tace have gone after each other but now they are forced to work together, and sparks fly between them. But as they look to resolve the dangers surrounding them plus the truth of what the President could be hiding in the bunker, a fierce love will grow between them. But is their love fatal with Tace on the verge of dying...or will Sami be able to work her magic and save the man she loves before it's too late.

My Outlook
I absolutely ADORED this book so much! And wow Rebecca Zanetti really threw me a curveball with this one here. I just enjoyed the way that this author put this story together and delivered it in a way that just worked so well. And the angsty romance was just done right. I can be very picky about the whole enemies to lover's trope and not that they are full on enemies or anything, more like competing with each other and like to bicker ...a lot. And boy do they get entangled with each other. I thoroughly enjoyed seeing them go at it and work through their desires for each other. They both were fighting what they were feeling for each other, and it was so wonderful to see this. And yeah, its gets pretty steamy in some scenes but its Zanetti so she just delivers on the steam so well!

The story line was so jam packed and the plot was well built. I do love that you could if you wanted to read this as a standalone (although I recommend these in order due to the world building) but that she doesn't overwhelm the reader with lots of world building either. It just has a nice balance to it. The way in which she builds the character growth is really fantastic. I was so charmed by both Tace and Sami. Once they worked through their issues it was so satisfying seeing what a great team they make together. I am so curious to see where the author is taking the serial plot and I have a feeling it's only going to get more intense. We do see the previous couples in this book and loved seeing them together and being in their HEA of sorts. And we also received some teasers for future books for future couples *crossing fingers*.
