 My Review:

Not my favorite book of the series. It offers some insights to the series and the family ahead in the series I would say but honestly....it was kinda confusing and the romance just felt so off in the second half. I was hoping for something better for this one. It actually ended kinda strange to be honest. And this type of mafia set up isn't going to be for everyone. There were aspects of this that just pushed my boundaries in a way that most mafia doesn't do to me. Not sure if its because this is novella form and some authors just don't handle that aspect too well sometimes. But the first half was incredible and loved it.

First Impressions
Redeeming 6 is the conclusion to the duet story for Joey and Aoife. I will be honest in that the only thing that kept me with this book is wanting to see Joey have a happy ending, he really deserved to get one but this book will pushed my buttons and I was eye rolling all the way through this book. Now keep in mind I am not placing much judgment on the hero especially. Yes he makes some mistakes here, but many problems crop up because of this heroine. I feel like she caused so much more drama for Joey and made his situation so much worse at times and didn't take accountability like she needed to. So this book was a hot mess....did it have its swoon moments? YES Did it have the satisfying ending I was hoping for? YES .....but the path getting there was rough especially with it being so so long!!!

First Line
"You're fierce quest, Joey son."

The Main Protagonists
The Hero: Joey Lynch
The Heroine: Aoife Molloy

Summary
Joey's life is in a tail spin and he doesn't know which is up and down. But he wants to get to a place where he is what is needed for Aoife, his family and himself. But he just doesn't know how to get there for her. Aoife is lost and craving the man that she loves and she doesn't know if she will get him back or lose him forever. Through their conclusion we see them face some challenges, challenges that could put Joey in a tailspin neither of them are ready for but will have to face and learn to rely on each other through them....

What I Loved
I really liked seeing the growth in their relationship. We get some fun moments in the book at times, but we really see the way in which Joey is falling under the abuse over the years. We see him wanting to protect Aoife and his siblings no matter the cost to himself. But in this book we really see him work so hard to try to get clean on his own. I really enjoyed the moments that we see within this couple, when they full trust and are honestly communicating were my favorite aspects of the story. I loved getting the glimpses into his reaction to Johnny and his crew that had me laughing all over the place because I had forgotten what a fan girl he was towards him. I really loved the third act of the story the most. But really the 2nd half of the story is what is really great about this because that is where Joey and Aoife really start fighting for each other instead of with each other. And that ending ....was PURE MAGIC!!! It made the struggle of reading these books really worth it.

What I Struggled With
First off the heroine was really hard for me to like if I am being honest. While I enjoyed her bubbly personality, and being so strong willed when it was needed at times, I really didn't like what a drama queen she was. She was flighty at times, selfish and totally clueless to big signs of things. And how she acted when she got pregnant and waiting almost a month to tell Joey was a big bad sign for me. I came so close to DNF this book especially with it being so so long (the original at over 1,000 pages) I was a fan of the angst in much of this book. I think I was hoping she would turn into a Shannon...but nope Shannon is LEAGUES better of a character than Aoife in my mind. I especially didn't like how she treated Joey after the attack. I wanted to strangle her so much in those chapters. And quite frankly this book is way TOO long. My issues though wasn't the difficult issues being addressed, but how Aoife especially treated the hero and not noticing things that were so painfully obvious. And while she did have decent character growth for me to eventually like her, she never does grow out of being self absorbed.

Narration
I listened to the first 30-35% in audio, and I really loved the narration for this series. They do so well especially on the Irish accents without it being too heavy.

Overall View
Redeeming 6 while having its flaws at times....delivered a heart warming story of growth, healing, love through the darkest parts of life and fighting for your own happy ever after!

First Impressions
Saving 6 is the third book in the Boys of Tommen series and this is the beginning of Joey and Aoife's story. Saving 6 was such a fascinating story and I am so glad that I was ab le to finally pick up Saving 6. I did put it off for a while because I knew Joey's books would be so heartbreaking to read and I really like to be in a certain mindset for those. But I think what really encouraged me to finally pick this one up, was all the backlash that this author received. And I have to say I had a great time with this one. This one was very different from Shannon's book though, so don't expect it to be similar in any way, because its completely on a different level.

First Line
All you need to do is keep your head down and your temper reined in.

The Main Protagonists
The Hero: Joey Lynch
The Heroine: Aoife Molloy

Summary
Joey and Aoife first met when they were 12 year old and an instant connection was formed between them. But Joey was put in a role that changed his personality and who he was in the heart of himself and he pushed Aoife away constantly. Aoife was always drawn to the boy who had such yearning in his eyes but would never claim her the way that she wished that he would. But through the years we see these two go hot and cold until the yearning and desire and love that they have for each other isn't to be denied. But Joey is going through hell at home, and Aoife will have to face up to the truth of his situation before they can truly come together in the way she has dreamed of....

What I Loved
The instant friendship and bantering that we see from the very beginning. I didn't want to put their story down. The author very quickly pulls you so quickly into their story where you don't want to put it down and you just want to see them fight so much harder for each other. These two come from opposite worlds. Joey lives in a world of abuse and torments. Then we have Aoife who has never known anything but love and laughter and trust. We see how they both will have to face up to some bitter truths and its not an easy road for either of them. There were many swoons in this story though, and some great laughs. Its not all serious matters. I really appreciated how the author really digs deep into the effects of trauma on kids. Many aspects of this story you are seeing those consequences and what many children do go through on a regular basis. What I did admire was the character growth that develops so beautifully in this story. And then ending was just perfect, but I know Redeeming 6 will be much more intense in many ways.

What I Struggled With
There were some things that kept this from a 6 star read. The first is all the inner angst lol I know we would probably have some of this due to Joey's high strung personality that is so reactive and due to the abuse that he had suffered. Some aspects of Aoife's character though was a hardship at times. I really wanted to shake some common sense into her. She was a bit clueless at times but she does grows and develops stronger and learns to fight for Joey so I did learn to appreciate her character. But the earlier years, she was harder to really like at times. I did love her personality but I think she was in denial about Joey's home life and that caused many problems.

Narration
PERFECT!!! I have loved doing these books in audio!

Overall View
Saving 6 was heartwrenching, beautiful and deeply angsty that digs deep into some difficult issues that will have you comprehending aspects in a perspective you haven't before. Powerful and poignant in only the ways that this author can deliver!

 My Review:

This one was super cute!!! Just a spicy novella but I really liked their banter and their chemistry was fabulous. I do wish the story was a bit longer though. I believe this is the Grandfather that started everything for the Rohan's lol I would have liked to see maybe a couple chapters of them in Ireland in their HEA. But still a fun quick read that I had a fun time with. But now I am sad to be done with this family saga. I have just loved all of these books and their adventures. Now I am wanting to explore more of her work. If you know what I should read next, let me know!

 My Review:

Heartless is the final novel in the "House of Rohan" series and this is where we get the youngest brother "Brandon" and his story with the sex worker "Emma". I really loved their chemistry in the last book and was curious to see how this one would play out. This one was interesting. Not my favorite of the series if I am being honest. It could have just been a "me" aspect though. But I did love the banter in this book and their interactions were very interesting. I did have issues with some of the angst that is introduced into this story. I wasn't encouraged by all the secrets between these two or why they weren't honest about their pasts with one another. It just caused so many issues between them when a honest conversation would have solved it and there is outer conflict in the story, so you would have that aspect to the story. However having said that, I still had a fun time with the story and the events that played out. And the ending was just right, I did love how the author added in that twist and that sweet endearing epilogue.

First Impressions
Love Redesigned is the first book in her latest series "Lakefront Billionaires" and this series is set in Michigan which was interesting, not too many books are set in Michigan. I found this book to be interesting. It still has the same flair for drama and angst and many laughs along the way. Its the theme of a enemies to lovers a bit....they are rivals in many ways and apparently have forgotten that they are adults now with some of the pranks they have, but the audio was stellar and kept me really going with it. There is a strong focus on family in this, it does have slight political undertones but it wasn't enough for me to want to stop reading it. And surprisingly the third act worked how I wanted it to but man the author had me worried there for a moment. And it did have some genuine diversity I found refreshing. I loved the Latino themes that are displayed in here.

First Line
I'm about ten seconds away from losing my goddamn mind and I have the painfully slow driver clogging up the only road into town to blame.

The Main Protagonists
The Hero: Dahlia Munoz
The Heroine: Julian Lopez

Summary
Dahlia Munoz left home to build a fancy career in California and chose another man other than Julian when Julian let his own grief and pride get in the way of claiming her for himself. But after a two year engagement, her fiancee dumps her when learning she can't ever have children due to a disease that would make it almost impossible to have a healthy child. Even though she is devastated what is worse is how she was betrayed by the one man she thought she could trust. She now heads home after being abandoned by her production team for her hit home redesign tv series. Where she meets her rival and the other man who had her heart and hurt it. Both Julian and Dahlia put up defenses to not look to closely at what they once had, but working together on a home renovation project, forces them to take a closer look at the love they once had and rekindle those flames...

What I Loved
Love Redesigned was a blast of fun in so many ways. First is the family elements. I love how both characters had such strong family connections. I feel like so many books now will have at least one character that doesn't have family bonds....but this one the families are also very close to each other despite the rivalry this couple has for each other lol I also enjoyed the cultural aspect of these Latino families and I feel like this author really did her research on it or its possible she is Latino (I don't focus on author's identities at all anymore) but I loved the Spanish wordings laid into this book like Easter eggs. I also had so many laughs in this story. The antics between these two were hilarious but I do think these antics were a double edged sword....while I was entertained .....I also had issues with them as well. Now the ROMANCE!!! The romance was a pure delight. When we had these quiet intimate moments between them when they started to trust each other again and be honest with one another ....the intimacy just grew between them. While the spicy scenes I am sure will be fun for some readers....what really got to me was their closeness, their openness with each other and this epic love between them that they hadn't fully embraced or even been able to have the maturity to truly fight for. The way they both see each other just leaped off the pages in such a moment stopping way that kept me eager for more. Seeing them reconnect and truly accept one another was so beautiful. And lets talk the ending. I was so NERVOUS for the ending, because of the way that the author was driving it .....but no worries the heroine chose right in the end. It showed that she was willing to give everything to the relationship just like our hero was willing to. And in the end it was better for her in the long run because it wasn't just for the hero, but for herself and her family and the ties she was forming in this town again. And we also got to see the sacrifices that led to unsuspected rewards in the end.

What I Struggled With
I know they are rivals and such but seriously did these two forget the memo they are supposed to be adults???? That they aren't teenagers anymore??? I feel like the hero was more adult than the heroine at times, but they still both acted ridiculous in so many ways. While I laughed hard at times, I didn't really enjoy these antics. I thought it was justice the heroine being put in jail with with the hero cause man what she was going to do to him on his own I thought was so cruel. Especially as you get later in the book......it just gave off immature and childish vibes in so many ways. Also some of the things mentioned in this book was political and didn't need to be in there at all. So I was disappointed in that and affected my rating. Maybe one day authors will realize books, especially romance books, don't need to push agendas. Us readers just want good stories. Now it wasn't super heavy or anything which is the only reason I didn't DNF.

Narration
BRILLIANT!!! The narration is what kept me going with this one to be honest. There were some moments I almost wanted to DNF but the narration had me so hooked into the story that I didn't want to put it down at all. I really appreciated the way that handled the accents and Spanish language just right and tones of emotion that fit this couple. If you love audiobooks, I highly recommend this author's audiobooks.

Overall View
Love Redesigned was a laugh out loud romance that kept me on my toes, engaged me from beginning to end and delivered in all the hearts and feels in the end.....captivating and real!!

You can read these as standalones, but for the other books in the series I would say you would want to read them in order for the small easter eggs of built up tension that is written.

My Review: (May contain spoilers, fair warning upon reading this review)

Death Wish is the finale in the Deception Duet and this is where we see what truly happens with our four players in the story. At the beginning, Landry and her sister have run away from home after being attacked. She finds refuge in a place she least expect and learns that the person who has a personality disorder that she has been falling hard for is actually three individuals....triplets. And now she is a prisoner, on the run with no one to turn to. But the triplets plan on making Landry believe in them and the future that they can have together. We see each of them work on convincing Landry of who they really are and what they can build in a relationship together. I was intrigued to see what would happen in this one. And this is where the actual reverse harem elements actually build in the story. Out of the triples....Scout actually ended up being my favorite of the three in this book. I feel like we really got to see his true character shine and we see his character really become cemented in a way we didn't see in the first book. I loved who he becomes in this book and the love he builds for Landry and her sister. I did enjoy the connections that we see in this book that connect to the Morelli's and the Constantines and what I really respected was that this story wasn't about sex. We really see strong relationship aspects here that I respected. Its why I struggle with Reverse Harem, because you just don't see that growth or development but K. Webster handled it just right.

Overall I found this one to be a solid read and eager to read more of this Midnight Dynasty Universe.

 My Review:

Triple Threat is a story that surprised me in how much I really enjoyed it. It wasn't what I was expecting but I found aspects of how this was written to be highly refreshing. I really liked the factors of the way the reverse harem was introduced, it was unique and different and if you struggle with this trope because of lack of relationship building and a real plot.....then grab up this duet and I think you will have a good time with it. We get four different POV's. This story features a story where our male interests: Sparrow, Sully, Scout are tasked with a job by the head of the Morelli family, to go in undercover to get information to bring down the Constantines. The family is business related to the Constantines. Sparrow is to befriend the oldest daughter: Landry-who is our heroine of the story. Sully is tasked with being a ASL tutor for the youngest daughter who is deaf. Then the anti hero of the group Scout is tasked with infiltrating the father's business. The heroine doesn't know that there are three of them....she thinks they are one persona with a personality disorder lol

I really liked the dynamic between the brothers and each interaction we get with them and Landry was really fascinating. Sparrow is your typical alpha hole hero. Sully is the charmer of the group. And Scout is the anti hero, who can be intimidating and scary and a bit of a psychopath if we are being honest. He is the reason they are always in trouble lol I loved how the plot built. Seeing the horrible situation that Landry has to deal with and trying to protect her sister. The retelling theme that this one is under is Rapunzel. Landry is basically a prisoner in this gilded cage, wanting to break free and save her sister. And I really liked how it ends in the end......a cliffhanger but nothing super insane like I was expecting it to be.

Overall this author made a reverse harem work for me and I trust most of what she writes now!

 My Review:
My Rating: 4.5 Stars!

The Untamed Mackenzie by Jennifer Ashley is the story that features the mystery detective from Scotland Yard "Lloyd Fellows" and the sister to Isabella "Louisa" and where over the past few books we have seen a sizzling chemistry building and this is their story.

The Untamed MacKenzie was a interesting one. While I really enjoyed it, I think this book needed at least 100 more pages to develop the story a bit more. It kinda seemed like it was rushed a bit at the end there for both the plot and the relationship and I think if the author had written a full length story for this one, it would have done a bit more stronger in both elements there. I have a feeling she intended it to be a novella and its just under 200 pages and I think it really needed to be at 300 or 350 but despite the rushness in the third act, I still had a blast with this book. I do think the author might not have known what she really wanted for Lloyd and Louisa's book though or that is the impression that I received from this one here.

So for this one here, I loved seeing Lloyd and Louisa together, I have always loved the connection to each other. There is a class difference where the heroine is above the hero and even though he is part of the Mackenzie clan, he still doesn't have the money and prestige that they do. But I think much of that is due to his pride more than anything else. We have a mystery in this one, where Louisa is the prime suspect in a high society murder and Lloyd is the only one that can find the evidence to prove that it isn't her because all the evidence points to her. The longing and pining between these two was so brilliant. And I loved the sensuality and intimate connection these two have.....these just blazed fire in the pages and in all the best of ways. There is something magical in how Jennifer Ashley writes her sensual moments, because it feels so much more than sexual expressions.....it really digs deep on the intimacy feels.

My only issue was the third act. It was very rushed at the end both in these two claiming each other and finding the true villain and exposing him but I will say it was super satisfying the ending and how they worked together to bring him down including Ian doing some secretive things haha And Daniel along for the show of course.

Overall I found The Untamed Mackenzie to be a delight and I am glad that I decided to pick it up!

How in God’s name could I know something was so damned wrong, so at odds with every promise I had made, and crave it like it might be the only thing that could sustain my next breath?

First Impressions
Promise Me Always is a story that will break into your emotions in the best of ways. You will NOT be ready for this one and what the author will deliver. I just felt this one so deep on so many levels. We see so much emotion and pining from both of these characters but we also see the background for Milo and how that drives the story. What I truly admired though was the partnership that we see from this couple and how strong they stand together no matter what they face. I was worried about the heroine in the third act, but she got through what it was and wanted to stand for the hero and make him believe the goodness that is in him. But I kinda knew that twist would probably happen after reading her writing lol Its a common theme within this series a bit.

First Line
It was just before ten PM as I edged through the crowd.

The Main Protagonists
The Hero: Milo Hendricks
The Heroine: Tessa McDaniels

Summary
Tessa McDaniels has been half in love with Milo for quite a while now. She has wanted him to see her for the woman that she is. But through a course of events, when he becomes her rescuer when her ex abuses her, he shows the true strength and protectiveness that is within his heart for her. He offers her a place to settle for safety and in exchange she becomes his fake fiancee so that he can get custody of his children as his in laws had taken them from him and the courts had sided with them. But this time he will fight for his children and find a place for them like he and his past wife had always planned. But what he didn't plan on was what he would find with Tessa.....to find love again when he feels so dirty and unworthy....but Tessa shows him he is worthy of love if he will fight for it...

“It’s always you. How could I live without the sun?”
“I love you,” I whispered at his lips.
“Mad, mad love.”

What I Loved
This book melted my heart from beginning to end. I loved every single moment of this one. I had no doubt though since I just adore this author and what she has delivered here. I didn't want to put this one down at all. I did this in audio (if you can do her books in audio....THEY HIT DIFFERENT) And I just loved how the narration made these characters just come alive so beautifully. I fell so hard for both Milo and Tessa but in different ways. Tessa is the perfect softer heroine. She is a teacher, and more fun and maternal in nature. I loved how she had this inner strength that resonates on such a deep level. Then we have Milo who is so damaged and tortured and in need of healing and redemption and finding love like he deserves. My heart broke for his past and what he had to learn to overcome. But seeing the growth in his character and learning to see fight so strongly with Tessa, had me swooning all over the pages. I just couldn't get over these two, their deep connection and the true unity in their intimacy.....A.L. Jackson has delivered once again and this is definitely my favorite series from her I have read so far. And I can't wait to delve further into her backlist.

All except for the undercurrent of darkness that curled around him like a building storm. The ghosts that haunted him in the night. But the truth was, I’d gladly take those on, too

What I Struggled With
I think the only thing that kept me from this being a 6 star read was how the conflict happened in the third act. I wasn't a fan with the brother being killed off, I would have really liked to have seen him survive. I think the heroine finding his things could have still happened without him being murdered.

Narration
BRILLIANT and so swoony!!! These two just narrate her books so perfectly and I didn't want to put the audio down at all!!!!

Overall View
Promise Me Always was a captivating read that swept through my heart and soul like a battering ram of sensuality, tortured hearts and a beautiful love that melts you from the inside out.

But sometimes, we have to make it through the ugliness to find the beauty on the other side.
