The Wanderer is so different than anything I have read in the longest time. This is my first-time experience Robyn Carr and I can tell you that this will not be my last. I adored everything about this one, and I honestly wasn’t sure what I would think of it since the main couple here doesn’t even meet really until about half way through the book. But we see other sub plots with three other couples develop so it still had the romance I was looking for. From what I can gather after reading The Wanderer is a book that sets up the series and what we see in the first half of the story is the level of friendship and warm openness this small coastal town have for each other. They support each other and back each other up and fight for what is right. Our main hero of the story Hank Cooper has come to Thunder Point to find out what happened to his friend and why he died. There are certain factors that just don’t add up about his death and Hank wants to make sure it was really an accident before he leaves. But then he finds out he is the inheritor of his friends will, which includes a large parcel of land and a local restaurant/bar and many other services. He becomes friends with the local sheriff in town, as well as a teenager “Landon who is being bullied by the local rich kid who wants to be the star of the football team instead of the newbie who is better at football than he is, and Landon also catches the eye of the sheriff’s daughter and one of the most beautiful girls in school.
He’d never been shy, but he’d always been a little uncertain around girls. He just couldn’t believe they liked him.
We also have a plot between the sheriff Mac and the next door neighbor and his best friend Gina. Gina and Mac are both single parents and have become good friends and there is chemistry between them but Mac refuses to let anything happen because of their kids and doesn’t want to ruin a friendship. The fourth sub plot we have is with Mac’s aunt Lou and her boyfriend she is keeping secret because he is ten years younger than her. Lou really struggles with him being so young.
He laughed at her and his hand found her ass. “Best looking great grandmother in the state, maybe the country.”
She lifted her head, messy red gold curles flopping around. “When you’re seventy I’ll be eighty. Eighty.”
“Christ, like you’re screwing a nineteen year old. I hope I live to be seventy. I can’t wait to see what you bring to eighty!”
Even though normally all these plots would confuse me….it didn’t and I was so pleased because that was my fear before reading this one. The romance between Cooper and Sara was sweet and warm-hearted and even though it seemed to be a bit rushed, it didn’t feel that way as I was reading. It had a natural flow to their relationship despite all that they needed to work through.
With you, I’m mentally, emotionally, physically in the moment. All in. All there. All yours.
Another aspect I really loved was seeing the ages of the majority of the couples. All over thirty, which was refreshing. We did have the young love between the teenager which was cute and fun. I just love romances where you see that love can happen at any age. Overall this book surprised me and made me fall in love with this Oregon coastal town, the people, and the atmosphere. Definitely can’t wait to pick up book 2.

Patrick Callahan, or also known As "Psycho" is everything as the nickname portrays. He takes wild risks and is a bit crazy. But on a hot and bored day, Psycho gets a little drunk and crosses a line. So the Captain decides that he can't afford the strain of Psycho's latest endeavor and sends him to his hometown to fight a wild fire. As much as this is a punishment, Psycho doesn't see it that way. Even though he hasn't talked to his family in years, a wild fire that isn't able to be contained, just right up his ally. But there is one person he least expected to find in Loveless, Nevada...sexy Lara Nelson. Lara has just learned of her aunt's death and learned that she inherited the Center for Sexual healing or also widely known as a Hippie commune. Lara always hated growing up in such a place, but she is desperate to find a buyer and return back to her normal and average life of being a doctor. Then she runs into a man she once knew as a cocky kid who was never heard from again after the fateful accident that changed all of their lives. Lara never expected that Patrick would be the one man she would want in a sexual way, but as they discover a hidden desire for each other they also find a powerful love.
Patrick Callahan is the son of a rancher, politician and once a governor. On a vacation from college, he comes home and he and his brother get into an accident, an accident that he is blamed for. His father disowns him, blaming Patrick for his brother's injury and this moment changed the course of Patrick's life. Instead of finishing college in political science, he became a firefighter. Being a firefighter helped him with his urge to have a adrenalin rush and daredevil personality, and Patrick knows that if it wasn't for serving as a firefighter he would probably be in jail or out on the streets. Psycho is everything the name implements and boy has he done some crazy things. In previous books, we don't see much of him except his crazy acts and his superficial attitude or that is what he portrays to most people. In this book, we see a deeper side to Patrick, a side he has kept hidden from everyone including himself. We see Patrick face his past in order to save his future. We see a man that is full of courage and strength, willing to sacrifice for those he loves and has a soft side for pretty women and baby Llama's.
Lara Nelson has changed from the timid gothic girl she was in high school. Her parents died in an accident when she was young and she was sent to live with her Aunt. An Aunt that was a bit hippie and was very open about everything sex. Lara never felt comfortable where she grew up, she always felt like she was the oddball of school and she had one friend...Liam, Patrick's younger brother. Lara never realized she would be a doctor one day. She has changed much from who she was in High School. Lara still is hesitant about anything sexual, but she is intelligent, dedicated and has a caring heart. Lara was a heroine that has a fiery nature. She has such an open heart for everyone, and she can be very diplomatic just like every doctor needs to be. I really liked how her personality shines through in those unique moments.
How To Tame A Wild Fireman is my favorite of the series so far. I really enjoyed the previous installments, but there was something that really called to me in this book. One its Psycho as the hero and boy is he one crazy man, but a delicious and sexy one. The beginning starts off pretty amusing, and boy the whole Pool scenario...the crazy things that happen when you get drunk. Then yippee for a wild fire scenario and facing your past. I just loved this scenario, and this is also where we see much more to Psycho than the crazy stunts he pulls.
He is one good firefighter and just jumps right in. Then Psycho and Lara see each other again. Psycho always has had a thing for Lara, but Lara hasn't until now. And boy oh boy do these two really have to battle inner demons in this book. Psycho has to face his family, especially his formidable father. Lara has to choose what to do with the Sexual center, which was quite different. Its not everyday we get a "hippie" type scenario in a romance, but I really gobbled every delicious scenario that enters into this story. What was quite fun was how these two keep running into each other. I adored the baby Llama that Psycho rescues and clings to him like crazy. I couldn't get enough of the small town country feel to the story, and with the added intensity of a wild fire it really increased the tension and excitement of the story. The romance is sexy and fun, and I loved how well it seemed to flow. And what I really admired was how Jennifer Bernard mixes humor with a sensual story.
This might be my favorite cover of the series. I love the pose here, it's so romantic and sweet but sexy at the same time. I love the background of the wild fire.
How To Tame A Wild Fireman is a tantalizing firefighter romance that has building sexual tension, characters who grow into themselves, and a love story that is wild and sweet!!

"I know I may seem like a reckless driver," he said, swinging the wheel to avoid a jackrabbit bouncing across the road. "But I've never even gotten a ticket."
"Is that because the cops never caught up with you?"
"Haha. Quite the comedienne. No, it's because I'm an outstanding driver, and if I were to break a traffic rule, they'd be so in awe of my technique they'd forget about giving me a ticket and simply applaud my expertise."
He is one good firefighter and just jumps right in. Then Psycho and Lara see each other again. Psycho always has had a thing for Lara, but Lara hasn't until now. Gabrielle Maxwell, is a photographer of gothic and abandoned buildings and is starting to increase in popularity. She is not used to the attention. On a night of celebration, she and her friends go to an infamous club that is becoming all the rage. From the first moment she enters, she feels uncomfortable and has an uneasy feeling. Her friends seem to be enjoying it all, but all Gabrielle can think about is the peace and quiet of her home. On her way out, she is the only witness to a horrific murder, and she takes pictures. But the police can't see what she does, and believe she is insane. Lucan Thorne, is a breed warrior, and one of the oldest of his kind and also considered to be royalty. But Lucan fights along side the rest of his warriors to bring an end to the rogues who kill without thought. Lucan wants better for their race and for the future of their children. But when he finds that a human woman is targeted by his enemies, he will have no choice but to bring her into his dangerous world. Lucan senses something different about Gabrielle and learns that she is a breedmate. Which is very rare, a human woman that is capable of being resistant to their "charms" and able to bear children and mate with one of their kind. Lucan is drawn to Gabrielle, she is different than most human women, and despite the danger that surrounds them....even though he doesn't deserve it, he needs her and wants her as his mate.
Kiss At Midnight is the first in the series and the first book I have read from this author. I have had my eye on this author for quite a while. But I hadn't yet picked up anything from her, even thoughI do love a good vampire romance and boy did I love this book. It had everything that I look for in a paranormal romance. What is interesting is that I picked this one up at the library but didn't plan on it. I just glanced at a shelf, saw this series, and picked the first book. This story starts off with a quick pace, and I was swept away by the story from the first page. It picks up with Gabrielle at a gallery showing of her work. Gabrielle is different from most heroines I have read. She is quiet and reserved, she likes to be on her own unless she is with her close group of friends. She tends to break the law to get the perfect photo. I loved her strength and her tenacity and she has this certain view of the world that is so different and I loved how unique her character is. Not your average heroine yet she was so easy to relate with on a human level. She has certain characteristics I felt close to.
Now lets talk about our hero of the story. Dear Dear Lucan...how I adore thee!! Lucan is quite the alpha, he is the leader, a protector and willing to sacrifice himself for his warriors. He fights with those men he respects and even loves. Lucan is a bit self deprecating at times, he underestimates his own worth, but he is a fighter and won't rest until the rogues are gone. The romance between these two is steamy and slow burning at times. Its not a insta love. They definitely have instant chemistry, from the first chapter they are drawn to one another.
But when it comes to the actual emotional side of their relationship, that takes a bit slower to form and develop. There are secrets and misunderstandings and a bit of miscommunication. However, Lucan and Gabrielle see each other as they truly are and understand each other in a way that no other does. I liked that they have a bond with each other even if they don't realize it. The supporting characters were quite fun. I loved the other warriors, they have great humor and have this energy that is contagious.
Then we have the villain or groups of villains. Now these are pretty bad and evil creatures. They are vampires but are rogues. Meaning, they don't care about consequences or how many humans they destroy. But the leader has a connection to Lucan I totally didn't see coming. Then we have a betrayal, and a death that was so heartbreaking it brings tender emotions to the surface. There was passion, suspense, danger, tearjerking upheaval and a story that makes me crave the second book!! Can't wait for my next trip to the library.
I love the style of this cover. Its a bit similar to Rebecca Zanetti's vampire series as well. I like the contrast of the yellow and midnight blue. We have the imagery of the sexual tension and then below we have the sense of danger and a graveyard...spooky.
Kiss Of Midnight is a stimulating story of sensual desire, enigmatic characters, and a riveting plot! THRILLS ON EVERY PAGE!!

Maybe she should cut the guy a little slack, maybe Thorne had been a no-show because something bad happened to him on the job.
What if he'd been injured in the line of duty and didn't come by as promised because he was incapacitated in some way? Maybe he hadn't called to apologize or to explain his absence because he physically couldn't.
Right. And maybe she had checked her brain into her panties from the second she first laid eyes on the man.”

“God, was this what Savannah meant when she said the blood-bond would enhance lovemaking? Gabrielle looked at Lucan with pure carnal need, hardly knowing where to begin with him. She wanted to devour him, worship him, use him up. Slake the coiling need that was churning inside of her.
“You should have warned me you were feeding me an aphrodisiac.”
Lucan grinned up at her. “And spoil the surprise?”
“Laugh it up, vampire.” Gabrielle arched a brow, then gripped his stiff erection and sheathed him to the hilt in one long move. “You just promised me eternity, you know. I can make you live to regret it.”
“Yeah?” The word was more of a strangled groan as she rocked on him, making his hips buck sharply beneath her.Eyes blazing now, he gave her a glimpse of fang as he smiled, clearly enjoying his torture. “Breedmate, I’m going to love seeing you try.”

Sir Bayard de Boisbaston, is a Knight of the King and aided his brother in finding traitors to the crown. But there was one traitor, who slipped through the cracks and is out for vengeance against his brother wife’s family. Bayard is then sent to help Lady Gillian and protect her from any harm from Sir Richard. Lady Gillian has worked hard to keep their family’s estate prospering and protected. She works along side the servants so that they can all benefit from hard work and determination. Gillian will do whatever it takes to keep everything running smoothly. But when Sir Bayard arrives, all Gillian sees is a man that could be a threat or an imposter. But even after she receives word that Sir Bayard is who he claims to be, she still mistrusts him. But Lady Gillian knows that there may be a threat to herself, but she is determined to live her life without fear. She is captivated by Sir Bayard, he is unlike most men in his position. He is understanding, strong and capable, a good leader but respects Gillian and her insistence to remain independent.
Sir Bayard de Boisbaston is a Knight, and even though he is close to his brother, he has been trained by the toughest…his father. His father wasn’t easy on Bayard and pushed his limits in the worst way. Despite how tough his childhood was, his older brother has always been his work. Bayard became a Knight, and even though he has some regrets, he has tried to live a life of honor. When he meets Gillian, he isn’t sure what to think of her. At first she is a bit of a prude, not feminine in any way. But as time goes by, he starts to see how dedicated she is to the people she protects and works hard to provide a good life for. Bayard is a hero I always love reading about. He is honorable, loyal and honest. I love how protective he is of Gillian and is genuine in everything he does.
Lady Gillian has fought hard to have the confidence to take care of her family’s estate. She will do anything to protect it, no matter the cost to herself. Her father tried to teach her and her sisters how little they mattered in life. But Gillian has proved that she is capable, strong and resilient. She has a difficult time with trust and opening her heart to Bayard. She once fell in love and paid the price. And she refuses to risk getting hurt again. But Bayard, is different and even though they are forbidden to every marry, she can’t resist the feelings he evokes in her, and how he has changed her life and opened her up to new experiences and a passion she has never known. I love the way that Gillian, opens herself slowly to Bayard, and also to new experiences and stops letting the past take control over her present and enjoy the moment.
The Notorious Knight is a wonderful story that takes place in the early 1200’s. This is part of a series but is not the first book, it in the middle of the series. But despite the setting, I definitely could recommend reading this as a stand alone. It brings you up to speed pretty quickly, but after reading this one, I am very curious about the first book now. Margaret Moore is such a talented writer, and I couldn’t get enough of Notorious Knight. It does start off a bit slow, but once it picks up the pace then I really got into it, and didn’t want to put it down. I really found the murder plot interesting, and adds a bit of a mystery and suspense feel to the story. But in the first half of the book, that sense isn’t super strong. It slowly eases into the most intense part of the plot. What was most intriguing was seeing the way these characters develop. The romance was a bit different. Its very slow, and at first these two just tolerate each other, but in a slow but steady way they learn to trust each other and open up in small degrees and then once they finally embrace what they have…its quite lovely. I loved the sparks that erupt between these two. Even though their’s is a forbidden love, they fall for each other anyway. Then the story truly picks up pace when the danger increases, those they trust the most betray them, and soon they will have to fight to survive. What was most interesting was the whole unable to marry. But from the author's notes and what I can remember from my history classes, this is the time when the Church had made some extreme measures on who can marry and they were very strict. This offered an interesting twist, with historical relevance and accuracy that made me fall in love with this story even more. A lovely medieval romance that kept me interested with each chapter, and excited to read more of this series.
I love the pose here…so romantic and tender. I love the way they are facing each other and has such an intimacy to it. And that beautiful background adds the perfect touch.
The Notorious Knight is a beautifully written romance that sweeps you away to the medieval era, in a time where deceit was everywhere, love within reach and loyalty was everything. SUPERB IN EVERY WAY!!

After their father died and she'd made her promise to her sisters, it had been as if the spell had lifted. She was free--as free as a noblewoman could be, even if she wasn't beautiful and charming. She had been happy and content, thrilled to be the mistress of Averette. And then Bayard had come, at first to frustrate and annoy her, then to make her feel respected and admired and finally, desirable.

I know that you're an honorable man. I've watched how you treat the women of my household. I've come to see that you're a good and noble man, in the best sense of the word, or I would not be here. I know what I ask is sinful and immoral, but I cannot bear the thought of never being with you, not even once. To never experience pleasure in your arms, loving you and being loved.
The Cover
I love the pose here…so romantic and tender. I love the way they are facing each other and has such an intimacy to it. And that beautiful background adds the perfect touch.

Taming Her Wolf was a truly wonderful story and I was so surprised in how much I got caught up in this story. It sets off when our heroine of the story, Kim Sharpe a doctor and has scandal all over her name, and has accepted the only job that would take her, a southern country clinic, In Fire Creek. Her clinic gets broken into, and she is forced to help a injured young man, a man that turns into something supernatural...a creature she never knew could exist. She is teamed up with "Brick" Preston, who is a shifter. What was most unique about this set up was that these "wolves" aren't your average shifter. They are a combination of three...man, wolf and beast. The wolf can come out whenever the man lets him. The beast is only allowed to come out under the full moon, once a month. But Brick is having trouble with the shilds containing his beast, and if he and Kiim don't figure out a solution, Brick may go rogue, and then his pack will be forced to either isolate him completely or kill him. I truly enjoyed this scenario. Brick is so great, he is having trouble but he never gives up. He doesn't want to become rogue. He still has honor and integrity and is a fighter. Kim was a heroine I had to learn to like. I had some issues with her, she is deceitful at times and doesn't always think through her actions. She is impulsive and selfish, but she does come around. She is talented, and kind and we see her change into a woman willing to sacrifice and to prove that she is different. Overall Dee Carney sweeps the reader off their feet with passion...mystery...suspense.
Lost Lady is the second boko in the Lady Trilogy, but the first book to read of this trilogy. There was no rhyme or reason that I picked this book up, I just wanted to read more of this author and this seemed like a good fit for me. The heroine of the story is very naive and innocent in the beginning. She has pretty much been imprisoned because of her fortune. Her uncle has been behind it because he will stop at nothing to gain access to the money she will have. But when she overhears her fiancee and her uncle talking about her and none of it is complimentary, she confronts them, and they force her out of the house with nothing but her nightgown on. She ends up in the docks and stumbles across Travis. He takes control and sees her fed, clothed and seduces her until he realizes that she is a virgin and not some dockside whore he picked up. Travis and Regan are at odds except for the desire they have for each other. They cross the sea all the way to Virginia and end up falling in love despite what keeps them apart at times. This is a story that reminded me of those older romances that won my heart. It has some characters that are very amusing and I loved the bantering, the shoe throwing and the hint of danger these two face. We see Regan grow from a naive girl into a confident woman who fights her own battles and for love. Its not your typical romance, a bit predictable but engaging and heartwarming at times. I just need to read the other two books because his young brother is a hoot, and his closest friend is a rascal.

Dante, a member of the breed warriors, is out on a night of hunting rogues. Through a series of events, he ends up chasing a rogue, a rogue that is more dangerous than any he has encountered. Harder to kill, suffering from a bloodlust madness that even regular rogues don't even suffer from. He ends up being shot and he comes across a veterinarian doctor, Tess, who he realizes after the fact of creating a bond to her, that she is a breedmate. Now she is his but only if he can protect her from the danger of his world. Tess has a talent and a heart for connecting with lost animals, and even though financially she is struggling she will do anything to help those in need. She is drawn to Dante, who is dangerous and makes her blood heat. She senses a connection between them, but there are so many secrets surrounding Dante. But when one of her two closest friends gets involved in some dangerous business with the rogues, with young Breeds turning rogue over the drug "Crimson" soon Tess will have to choose between a old friend and the man she is growing to love. Soon Dante and Tess will be thrown into the fire of danger, passion, and betrayal...
Dante, is one of the Breed Warriors, and fights to protect both his kind and humans from the savagery of Rogues and their vicious appetites. What I found most intriguing about Dante was his fierce need to protect others. Dante doesn't believe that he will ever be good enough to be lucky to have a mate of his own. He lives to fight and to kill the enemy. Dante's gift is having visions of a future of death and fire...a death he knows will be his and soon. The same happened to his parents, and he knows he inherited his gift from them. Dante is on a mission, to find out the source of Crimson and destroy it. A dangerous drug that turns a breed into a rogue fast...faster than he has ever seen. Their enemy is at work against them once more. Dante is quite the hero in the story. I really loved his fighting spirit and how far he is willing to go to protect the innocent. I really admired Dante because of the way he wins over Tess.
It's not a instant love, it's more he takes his time for her, trying to gain her trust not only for information but also because he is connected to her in an emotional and physical way.
Tess Culver works as a Veterinarian. She connects with animals and they trust her instantly. Tess grew up in a home of a dysfunctional family, where drinking and abuse were apparent. One night haunts her, the night she used her gift, a gift she views as a curse. She left home and built a new life for herself. But to this day, it still haunts her, so she focuses all of her attention on those animals that need her help that come from abusive situations.
When Tess helps a stranger who is shot, she never realized how her life would be changing. What I liked most about this heroine was her drive. She was dedicated but a bit of a loner. Due to her gift, and her past, she struggles with trust. I really admired her strength and courage, and she proves herself in more ways than one. From beginning to end, we see more facets to her character, and with each chapter you begin to like her more and more.
Kiss of Crimson continues off pretty quickly after Kiss Of Midnight. What I found most enjoyable was seeing Dante and Tess come together in the story. Its not a insta love story, which I was pretty glad about. It takes time, and its done slowly and gradually and I felt so at ease with their romance. This story sets off with a mystery and a dangerous situation of a new drug "Crimson" now this stuff is pretty bad ass, it pretty much destroys a Breed within minutes of inhaling the stuff and turns them into a blood crazed rogue, with superior strength moe than the regular breed and it takes a lot to kill them. This aspect of the story was heartwrenching at times. Because these are young Breeds in their late teens or early twenties who are being destroyed by this drug. We have a side plot of a new character Chase and his secret agenda to find his nephew who has been missing for two weeks. We have Elise, a woman his brother was mated to, but a woman he has loved secretly but knows he will never have a chance with. Even though Chase starts off with secret intentions, they are good ones to save his kin and I respect that. It was just the icing on the cake to see Chase win over the warriors here, despite the lies and deceit, he proves himself capable. We some other character Gideon and Savannah, Lucan and Gabrielle, and poor Rio!! Zero trust with women (which for those who have read the first book, know why) and is scarred and still healing from what happened in the previous book. The love story between Dante and Tess is real and vivid in emotion and passion. They fight for the love they have found together and it is quite moving when they finally trust fully in each other.
This book really grabbed my attention, and i stayed up reading because I was so immersed in the story. I love the way Lara Adrian's writing is so compelling and wraps around you like a heated blanket in the dead of winter.
I really love the blue and red contrast here...with the red splashes of the city and the blue of the couple. Has an edge and passionate feel to it.
Kiss of Crimson is a tantalizing read that sinks its hooks into the reader from the first page. A stimulating page turner that is packed with sizzling passion, edgy suspense, and a mystery to unravel!! THRILLING TO THE END!

“You don’t think I’m . . . some kind of monster? That I’m not much better than him to have killed him like I did, in cold blood?”
“Never.” Dante lifted her chin on the edge of his hand. “I think you’re courageous, Tess. An avenging angel, that’s what I think.”
“I’m a freak.”
“No, Tess, no.” He kissed her tenderly. “You’re amazing.”
“I’m a coward. Just like you said, I always ran away. It’s true. I’ve been afraid and running for so long, I’m not sure I can ever stop.”
“Then run to me.” Dante’s eyes were fierce as he held her gaze

Archie Stevenson and Kee Smith end up working together. Kee Smith is the latest member of the SOAR, and a woman to boot. She is fiery and passionate and gets the job done. Ever since she joined the military, she has hard to prove what she can do and that she can match the best of the best. Now she has finally made it, but the fight doesn't end here...it is just beginning for Kee. Her first impressions aren't the greatest until she meets Archie. Archie is one of the best in strategy maneuvers but when it comes to women he is at a complete loss. He doesn't know the game of flirting until he meets sexy Kee Smith who makes his head spin. They are drawn together in a mission, where they save a little girl, who is starved and an orphan having seen her parents killed right in front of her eyes. She clings to both Archie and Kee in different ways and seeks to do a little matchmaking. Archie and Kee begin to warm up to each other and begin to form a strong attachment to one another. But there is a dangerous mission ahead of them, a mission that will put hundreds of families lives on the line, where tough decisions will have to be made...
Archibald Jeffery Stevenson is a first lieutenant, a co-pilot and has a cunning mind for ops. He can determine certain scenarios that are lost on others. He has worked side by side with Emily Beale and is proud of it. Archie has one failing, he can't seem to stop being nervous around women, especially stunning women like Keiko Smith. Archie is shy, but he starts to become bolder when it comes to Kee. He recognizes a passion and a thirst for action just like he has, but also a person who dreams. He understands the implications of them being together, but he also can't deny that when they are together they are explosive. What I loved most about Archie was how real he was. He isn't one of those alpha's that know their way around women. Archie is totally opposite but once he is at ease with someone...watch out or you could get burned. He tends to get nervous at first with Kee, blush ( and boy is that sexy) and stutter sometimes. I fell hard for his character, because of how sincere he was through the whole story. He didn't hide who he was, he faced everything head on and I admired that honesty about his character.
Kee Smith was practically forced into the army when she barely eighteen but she has never regretted that decision. She grew up on the streets and had to learn how to be tough at a very early age. She never knew her father, and her mother was a prostitute. But when Kee makes a certain decision, the judge gives her a choice. Jail or the military? So Kee joined the service and put everything she had into it. She proved herself at military school, she became one of the best of her class, and now just earned a spot on SOAR. An elite pilot group, who have to train just as hard as special forces do. She knows how to handle herself in any situation except when it comes to opening up on an emotional level. She has had to hide part of herself for a long time until she meets Archie and is blown away by his affection and love he has for her. What a strong heroine Kee Smith is. I really liked her quite a bit. She is definitely bad ass, and when on a mission don't let anything or anyone stand in her way. But we see her growth when she falls hard for Archie and the little girl Dilyanna. It was very interesting seeing the contrast in her character, her fighting spirit, and courage.
What a story!!! Whew, I was completely blown away by this book. The action, the love story, the drama--everything I was expecting and more. I really fell for Archie's character in the first book, and I was so glad to read his story. This is one of those pairings that are complete opposites when it comes to their past, but they make a relationship work and bring balance to their crazy lifestyle including a little girl that won my heart. She is a bit of a scamp and a wily matchmaker. She wants a family again, and from the beginning she senses that Archie and Kee could be that family. This part of the story, with this orphan, who had watched her parents, who had loved her and loved each other be slaughtered, she needs to feel safe again. And boy do Kee and Archie do that for this little girl. We see how Dilyanna is the key to making Archie and Kee see what they have together is real and unique and give them a fighting chance. They have some difficult hurdles and have to learn to trust each other, but once they come together it is magnificent. I love the way this author weaves this story in a way that leaves the reader on edge but always give that emotional feedback. I can't wait to see which member of SOAR is next up!!
I love the dangerous feel to it, with the desert and the helicopter, but also has a sensual feel to it as well.
I Own The Dawn is a fast paced adventure, with a perfect blend of romance and suspense that is balanced in such a way it captures your heart and takes your breath away!

This was a fun and sweet regency romance. It starts out when our heroine, is desperate to save her fathers book shop, and she is offered a 100 pounds in exchange for kissing a lord in public. A kiss...really easy right? Well somehow she ends up liking this stranger and that one kiss is one hell of a kiss and changed her forever. When she loses her shop over the scandal, she is offered a job to be a lady's companion and she is having to work with constantly. the love story between these two is sweet and heartwarming, but I had a problem really connecting with the love story. The characters were unique and interesting and they really were what won me over with One Scandalous Kiss.
This was such a wonderful and heartwarming story. Our heroine, Eveny, is a shifter wolf. She is coming up on her 25th birthday, and she will be coming into her heat soon. She will have to choose a mate unless she can find a way to be alone. There is no one in the pack she would choose for herself, but there is a human Luke. Luke has been her best friend since they were kids, and she is in love with him. If she were to choose anyone to share her life with, it would be him. But if she mates with him she will have to say good bye to her pack, and her family. But when her heat comes upon her, and four pack members are coming to rape and even kill her to weaken her brother who is alpha so they can take over...Luke protects her and she mates with him. I loved this story because it pulled at my emotions, kept me in suspense, and the writing captivated me. I just couldn't put it down. Exciting and passionate!
