There was so much fun moments to Rescued by the Ranger. This is a story that begins when our hero, Garrett a Ranger, found a document leading to mysteries surrounding his mother and his aunt Peg. We see how Garrett and his brother and sister have been misled on the mystery of their mother and the reason on why she left. When he arrives to meet his Aunt Peg, he meets a bar owner who is fesity and hates him at first. But Garrett is a charmer and doesn't take her seriously. He likes her spirit and I found their bantering quite engaging, but I did have a issue with Rachel at first. I understood her anger, but I couldn't see why she was so against Garrett, especially when she learns the truth. She is quite stubborn and obstinant. But I did quite enjoy seeing the way they come together finally. Garrett was so patient and understanding with Rachel, despite how judgmental she could be at times. It was interesting to have the added intensity of a villain at work here, a stalker and his true identity really shook me and one I didn't see coming. I found Rescued by the Ranger to be a deep and riveting story that kept me at the edge of my seat and I soaked up every detail and aspect of this story with relish. It had a charm and unique qaulities. What drew me most to love this one the most was the mixture of sweet and intense moments. We see a beautiful love story that develops from opposition to working hand in hand and learning the true measure of trust and love.

Excerpt

“Sorry, bud. Needed you with me on this one.” He rested his hand on the dog’s shoulder just above the ragged scar where a bullet had torn through muscle and tissue. Cowboy had recovered surprisingly well, but the wound had ended the career of the best military dog Garrett had ever been teamed with.

Cowboy’s big, brown, soulful eyes studied his for a moment before a barely audible woof broke the silence.

Garrett chuckled and patted the dog’s furry side. “Good boy. That’s right—use your indoor voice. You’ll need to be on your best behavior while we’re here. Shouldn’t be long, though. I can’t imagine there’d be anything to keep us here beyond the end of the day.”

Why had he come anyway?

Aunt Peg’s letter. His temper flared remembering the confrontation between him and his father after Garrett had stumbled upon the year-old letter in his dad’s desk drawer.

“Looking for something, son?” There’d been wariness in his father’s voice.

Garrett had dragged his gaze from the envelope in his hand to study the senator. “I misplaced Shay’s telephone number. I thought I might find it in here.” The call to his sister momentarily forgotten, he’d held the letter up so his father could see.

The senator had looked away, his expression shuttering over. “I meant to give that to you, but both you and Luke were out of the country when it arrived and, frankly, it’s not something you should worry about. You need to concentrate on getting well,” his father had said, but the way his gaze bounced around the room instead of meeting Garrett’s told a different story.

“Dad, I’ve been in the States for six months. Two months at the VA hospital and four months recuperating right here in this house. Luke’s been here a week. What were you waiting for?” Garrett had held the letter out in front of him. “ ‘Garrett and Luke Harding.’ ” He’d read the first line of the address out loud and then jerked the letter away as his father made a grab. “Peg Williams. That’s Aunt Peg, isn’t it? Did it cross your mind at all that Luke and I might be interested in what our mother’s sister had to say?”

“Your mother passed away a year ago. Peg invited you to the reading of the will. Hell, your mother didn’t have time for you while she was alive. Why would you be interested now? Hate me for it if you want—I took it upon myself to keep the letter from you. I didn’t think it was important twenty-nine years after she walked out on you boys.” Anger had hardened his father’s expression.

Garrett had sucked in a breath as the words pelted him, reopening a wound he’d thought long closed. After all, they hadn’t heard from the woman their father had said was a drug addict in nearly thirty years. Now she’d apparently left them something in her will—as though she’d have anything they’d want. Wasn’t that just the icing on the cake?

Garrett had straightened his six-foot-one frame until the muscles surrounding the six-month-old wound in his back protested sharply. “You had no right to make that call.”

“I had every right. I wasn’t going to let that woman hurt you again.”

Steel-gray eyes, so like his own, had stared back at Garrett. “Are you sure that’s the reason, Dad? Or could it have had anything to do with keeping the senator’s ex-wife off the front page of the newspaper?” Silence had stretched for at least thirty seconds, during which Garrett had had ample time to regret his words.

His father, ever the diplomat, had smiled faintly. “Let’s table this discussion until cooler heads prevail, shall we? You have your letter, and I have a meeting I’m going to be late for.” He’d grabbed several folders from his desk and hastened from the room.

There is an enemy more powerful than anything Tony and Sue have ever faced, one that could destroy all of the Sazi.

Plot and Story Line

Moon's Web was such a tantalizing story and I soaked it all in. I really enjoyed the first time, and even though these two aren't together as much as the first book, we see some powerful tests of their love happen in this one. We see how having a fresh start isn't always the best or easiest adjustment. What was most great about this book, was seeing how these two really come together even more than the first book, and we don't see much of them together. We see quite a bit of pack politics, some new characters (that I am half in love with already), some old ones, a mysterious villain, and a curious circumstance between Tony and Sue. Basically Tony's new abilities are causing havoc a bit, and when a healer works on him, but then disappears, he and Sue have to get a physical separation for a bit. Its causing some anger management issues and until they can find the missing healer, they will have to content with their mental touches. What was most fascinating about this was how the intricate world building, and boy did it increase quite a bit in this book. We get a better look at the Sazi species, their history and what they are capable of. There are so many unique elements that really wrapped this story up quite nicely. I found it very interesting seeing how cemented Tony and Sue become in the pack in such a short time. It isn't easy for them for a while, and I fell in love with these two all over again when we see what they become and grow into. Simply a wonderful book and can't wait to delve more deeply into the Sazi.

The Cover

What I like about this cover is how well it relates to the story. Not a big fan of the way its formatted, but its different and I like that.

Summary

Elise Chase has left dark haven, the only home she has ever known to get justice for the death of her son. She has trained herself to fight and hunts down rogues in the city. She is on a mission and nothing is going to change her mind. When she stumbles on a minion and kills him, she is drawn into a danger she didn't see coming and then Tegan rescues her. Tegan is shocked to see Elise fighting or living in a run down apartment when she could have the safety of Darkhaven. Tegan understands the pain and the need for revenge, but he also understands how to stay alive. Elise has a powerful ability, an ability that is crippling her in certain ways. She joins forces with the intense Tegan, in order to stay alive, but also to get to the bottom of what the Rogue leader is really after. They stumble across a certain book, which contains certain clues that lead them to Europe and their allies there. Elise and Tegan will discover a secret, a secret that has been kept for centuries, and one that could destroy them. Soon Tegan and Elise not only discover a danger to their kind, but also a passion and a mating they didn't see coming.

The Hero

Tegan is a Breed warrior, and one of the most powerful of their kind. He understands pain and loss. He once lost his breedmate and still suffers from the pain of that loss despite the amount of years that have passed since. He was betrayed and lost everything he held most dear. Now he has trained hard and is one of the most toughest and fierce of the warriors that fight the rogues.
He was the ghost you never saw coming, death breathing down your neck before you even realized you were in the crosshairs.

He hasn't made that many friends, he is brutal at times but is tough. What I found I most loved about Tegan  is the hidden qualities that rise to the surface. At first he has quite a tough shell, a shell he has created to protect himself from getting hurt. A shell that most see as cold and unfeeling, but Tegan burns with quite a bit of emotion which he keeps under lock and key. Tegan has that "Tortured Hero" feel to him that is quite heartbreaking, but I loved seeing him shine at different points in the story.

The Heroine

Elise has been suffering and is grief stricken. Elise lost her mate years previous, and then her son got hooked on a dangerous drug that turned him into a rogue. Her son was killed right in front of her when he tried to kill her. Ever since that fateful night, she was changed forever. She left the only home she had ever known, Darkhaven, and left for the city where the rogues lay. She trained herself to fight and to kill minions.  Elise has a gift, but her gift can be crippling to her. She hears all the negative thoughts that surround her. What was most likable about Elise was her personality. She has always been reserved but kind and loving. But we see a change in her, where pain and grief have altered her a bit. She has become more tough and resilient, and I quite adored this side of her. Even though there are times she makes mistakes, these are quite human like and very easy to relate to.

Plot and Storyline

Midnight Awakening continues a bit after the second book ends. When I first started reading, I couldn't believe our heroine...Elise was the same as the character in the second book. They seemed so different from each other, but we see so much more to Elise. We see her strength and her courage and her ability to adapt to a new circumstance and how she deals with her grief. I really felt for her character, because she has lost both her mate and her son. That was quite heartbreaking, to see her working alone and killing minions and trying to get justice for what was done to her son. And in the beginning, when Tegan and Elise first interact with each other, I was a bit apprehensive. I couldn't see how these two would work and fit as mates. They seemed so different from each other. At first, they really are at odds with one another and hurt each other even without fully meaning to. But as they begin to work hand in hand more, they begin to mold a bit more and soften with each stage of the story. What was most interesting was how their relationship builds. It is different than the previous two books and I liked that. Seeing something, a bit different and unique develop. Both characters are tough in different ways and it was quite fun to see how they meshed together and created a wonderful harmony in their personalities. Midnight Awakening has a bit more of a "mystery" tone to the story. It does have some action too, but the major drive of this book is the mystery and trying to figure out what the leader of the rogues has up his sleeve, and Tegan and Elise are the keys to finding out what is really going on. We also see some of our other favorite characters, including poor Rio who is still recovering from his injuries. Now I want to talk about the actual romance a bit. They have quite the bantering going on...heated and intense. The sexual chemistry is blazing, they definitely have that going for them. What was most unique about their story was how they complimented each other so well....both physically and emotionally. I really loved the balance that develops between them. There were some intense moments but also some tender and romantic ones that will have you grabbing for your box of tissues.
I’ll admit it to you now, and to anyone, anytime. I need you, Elise. I love you. You are mine. My woman, my mate, my beloved. My everything.

But his book is next so I CANT wait. We also see a growth in certain character and I loved the depth in this book that kept me hooked. Love the style of Lara Adrian and with each book, I get more caught up in the world building.

The Cover

I quite love this cover. I love the blue and purple tones and the European street feel to the cover. Love how it relates with the story.

Summary

Elissa Longbourne has come to London at the King's request. Elissa is a recent widow and has been holding their lands together. Elissa has a son who is heir to those lands. When she is summoned, she is curious but also apprehensive. All she wants is to live a peaceful life and raise her son as she sees fit and not be dictated to. She is shocked to learn that the King is demanding she marry Sir Richard Blythe. Sir Richard, has been wanting his birthright, but when he went away to fight in the wars alongside the King, he lost everything due to foolish choices by his parents. He has been trying to find a way to get those lands back. So even though he would prefer to choose his own wife, is willing to marry Elissa. But Elissa hasn't played all of her cards yet, and she has an ace up her sleeve. She uses it and Richard is furious, but there is nothing he can do about it. Richard senses a passion and depth to Elissa and is determined to find the woman beneath her cold exterior. Will Elissa be able to open her heart to Richard and find a love she has always dreamed of?

The Hero

Richard Blythe, hasn't exactly had the best cards dealt to him. He was scandalized as a boy, his parents were known for their scandals and sexual adventures, and his parents used each other and it was a bitter childhood for Richard and he learned to grow up fast. But the scandal of his parents has always haunted him. He leaves the land he has always loved and went to help fight in the war. He gained friendships, one with the King whom he fought side by side with. But now Richard is determined to gain his land back when it was taken away while he was fighting for his country. Richard is such a hero, he is a warrior and has had to learn to be tough, but he also has compassion and is quite understanding. His character has a level of depth of emotion you don't see at first. We see layers beneath his warrior exterior.

The Heroine

Elissa Longbourne, married a man out of convenience and, of course, she had little choice. Her marriage wasn't exactly roses, and when her husband died, she was left with a son and a freedom she has embraced. Elissa is quite dedicated to her son and is willing to do anything to make sure he has a secure future, even if that means marrying again and giving away the freedom she has loved. Elissa's character is quite different from Richard. At first she seems a bit meek but she has a fiery nature and is quite cunning when its needed. I really enjoyed her creativity and her sense of love for her son. She is quite stubborn at times and hardheaded. At first I didn't know what to think of her character, but by the end of the story, she grew on me. I understood her reasons and even though she was a bit unfair to Richard at times, I could also understand her reasoning.

Plot and Story Line

A Rogue's Embrace is a stunning story that is definitely Margaret Moore and I fell in love with it. This book is set in the 17th century...the period of enlightenment. This is such a unique time period, and we don't see this setting very often in historical's. So I just soaked up every detail of the story. One of my favorite aspects of Margaret Moore's writing is how detailed she is, and the way she just makes a story come alive for the reader. What was most appealing was the spark between these two. They have had it from the beginning of the story, and even though they didn't like each other very much, that spark builds gradually throughout the story. There are some misunderstandings between the two, and what fireworks! Both Elissa and Richard are both proud and their personalities tend to clash. They are also so stubborn they both refuse to really listen to each other and even though sometimes it could get a bit annoying, I also felt so entertained by their antics. A Rogue's Embrace is a slow building romance, with various facets of a romantic relationship that is revealed. Stunning in historic detail, vivid in its romantic elements and quite a satisfying read!!

The Cover

I love the old classic style of the cover we have here. I love the tones of the colors, and her dress is very realistic to the time period. Then we have the beautiful estate in the background, with the pond and the swan (which adds such a classy touch). This cover may not be for everyone, but I love how real it seems.

Overall View

The Newcomer is the second in the Thunder Point series, and what we have here is pretty much a continuation of the first book. At the end of the first book, we had all four couples admit their feelings for each other. In The Newcomer its been seven months, and we see them together. Technically the story is surrounding Mac and Gina. But there is also focus on Cooper and Sara and a bit on our Teenage romance with Landon and Evie. This story brings a woman from Mac's past, his ex-wife. We see what this does to his children, most especially Evie. We also have something traumatic happen with Gina's daughter that really tests Mac and Gina. Cooper and Sara have their own setback in their relationship. The story even though there technically isn't one main story, I really am loving how this series has been developing. What I had most fun was seeing the development in these relationships, and seeing them being tested in different ways. I enjoyed the different twists in the story, and each time I read Robyn Carr I fall in love even more with this coastal town. It resembles that small town charm, with plenty of drama and tension. I had a ball with this one mostly because we see a continuation of the previous book, only a bit more focus on Mac and Gina. There is some new characters that come into play and some twists I didn't expect. I love the way each of these characters is so unique from the other, and they are not all the same. A fabulous story of love being tested, seeing certain characters grow because of the conflict and having the good and the bad in human life be shown. The Newcomer wrapped its way around my finger and I am so excited to read the next book.
