Lady Margaret has been commanded by the King, to marry the enemy, Dominic, a Norman knight and a powerful warrior who is well known throughout the country. Margaret is a witch of sorts, a healer, and her curse is that she will only bear a heir if she and her husband are in love, a powerful and unyielding love. Her father and childhood friend on intent on making sure that there is no match between Meg and the Norman, whom they view as the enemy. However Meg's first priority is the people she is in charge to care for. So she marries Dominic, knowing she would face the wrath of her family. But Meg knows her duty. Dominic, has fought through many battles and wars, and has suffered torture, and now he desires one thing above all else, a son, a heir. Little does he know how much he is going to have to prove himself to get his heir. Meg is his wife, and he would never force her, but when he hears of her beliefs and that he will never get a heir without her loving him, he sets out to seduce her. Dominic doesn't realize that he will discover a beautiful love with his stunning wife and a happiness he could only dream of...
Untamed is the first in the medieval series by Elizabeth Lowell. For years I had heard so many great things about this author, And after recently reading the third in this series, I was really excited to read Dominic's and Meg's story. The story starts out with Meg meeting Dominic, but Dominic thinking she is a servant and not his future bride. There is a bit of a spark that flies between them, but then Dominic soon finds out she is his bride. Meg, is apprehensive, and afraid in the beginning of Dominic. She doesn't know what to expect from him. Dominic, is intent on wooing his bride, since he could never force her to go to his bed with him. He wants her to come to him willingly. Then he becomes jealous when he learns that she may have had a affair with her distant cousin, and cages her within the keep and keeps a watchful eye on her. There is quite a bit of mistrust and misunderstandings that happen, but as the plot thickens, you see how this couple comes together when it really counts.
This story is mostly about this couple learning to trust in each other, and the love that is right in front of them, if they will only reach out to grab it. There is a bit of a suspenseful portion to the plot, that tends to put you at the edge of your seat. Untamed is a thrilling story set in Medieval England, and I enjoyed how this author weaved culture and misconceptions of these two warring people. As you read Untamed, you see that this author does her research quite well. I am a bit of a history buff, so its always fun to learn new facts about different time periods, especially this time period. There is also a bit of a magic/paranormal element involved in the story. Not overly much at all, more like a light feathery touch into the story that adds a certain flair to the plot. I enjoyed seeing these two together. Both are very stubborn and strong willed, so chances are they are going to clash. However I felt like even though their relationship is rocky in the beginning, the rough edges start to smooth out as you get deeper into the story.
The characters I loved, and I didn't have many issues with either one of them. I felt like Dominic is your typical Alpha male type, however, he does fit the Tortured male hero type as well. He has suffered from great torture recently, and you see how learning to love changes him, but in a much more sexier way. The heroine is a healer, and will do everything she can to protect her people. She isn't afraid to stand up to Dominic, but she also knows which battles to fight as well. You see how they learn to compromise and slowly start to trust in each other, even though they didn't trust each other at all in the beginning.
Overall a jewel of a romance, one that will sweep you off your feet and into the magical time of the medieval time period. After reading this, Elizabeth Lowell is moving up my list of favorite historical romance authors. Its rare to see a author blend history, culture, passion, suspense, and romance into a gem of a read. Untamed will stir up passion, emotion, danger into a magically written story that will take you back through time. ENCHANTING!!

The Scandal in Kissing An Heir is a fun and charming love story set in Regency England. I was able to receive a copy of this book in exchange for a honest review. This is the first that I have read Sophia Barnes, and I read this book under a few hours, surprisingly and I enjoyed it quite a bit. This book actually turned out to be much better than I even expected. I found this story to be intriguing and fun and very sensual at times. The descriptions that are placed into the story were vividly real and I enjoyed seeing the style of the way this author creates a story. This book starts out with this couple first meeting at a ball, and they have a instant connection. Even though there is a bit of a rival for Rebecca that Daniel is faced with, it soon becomes clear that Rebecca only wants Daniel. Then he learns about who she truly is and then Daniel and Rebecca are thrown together in a scandal, and soon they will have to learn to trust in each other.
I couldn't help but enjoy this entertaining ride this story has taken me on. I found the writing to be unique and with a sense of freshness to it. There was so much going for this book that I enjoyed. From the first page, I was completely drawn in, and even though it didn't rate a high 5 rating, I found it to be a enjoyable story that you can relax into. It had many elements that made it a brilliantly well written love story that makes you root for this couple from the beginning. Overall I couldn't help but love The Scandal In Kissing An Heir and with a sweet mixture of romance, sensual setting, and characters to make you feel alive.....this story will charm and delight you till the very last page. REMARKABLE!!! I can't wait to try more of this author, definitely going to be bumped up my list!!

"I want you, and only you" he'd whispered as he'd entered her. Taken her. Possessed her. It had been so breathless, so ruinous. So very wonderful.
Harriet Hathaway has known Roxley for most of her life. Now as a grown woman, she wants more from him than mere friendship, she desires him and loves him. One night at a ball they share a memorable kiss, but nothing came from it. Now over a year later, she still wants to marry him and wants to show him that what they have is more powerful than any other match he could ever make with any other woman. Roxley, due to his parents gambling habits, has barely kept himself afloat. Now he is approached by a man who has bought all of his debt, and demands that he marries his daughter. Feeling as if his hands are tied, he knows that he has no choice, even though his heart has always belonged to one woman, a woman who was dare enough to kiss him and change everything. The last thing that Roxley wants is to hurt "Harry", but he doesn't have a choice in order to save those whose welfare are relying on him. Harriet is shocked when she learns that Roxley is suppose to propose to another woman, and is determined to stop it. Then a dangerous plot unravels, and it will take Roxley and Harriet working together to put that which was wronged right once again, and to take down those who would destroy them.
If Wishes Were Earls is the first novel that I have read from Elizabeth Boyle. I was able to receive a copy in exchange for a honest review from Avon and Edelweiss. I don't know why I haven't read her before now, especially since I love historical romance. As they say "Better late than never", and I definitely feel that way about this author. I plan on looking for this author at my local library and reading more of her books. Even though this is the third in the series, it could be read as a stand alone, but I definitely wishes I had read the first two beforehand, but it isn't necessary to read this one. First off I want to discuss the cover, which is one of my favorites, including the stepback. When I saw it for the first time, I found the blend of the purples, pinks and the white dress, had such a mixture of soft colors that created a magical scene of sensuality.
One of my favorite aspects of If Wishes Were Earls was the way that the story picked up, it starts with the reader seeing Harriet being bold and daring and going after what she wants, which is the Earl of Roxley. But what turns into hopes gets turned into disappointment when Roxley treats her differently after the fact. But she doesn't want to give up hope, so she sets up a plan to make Roxley fall in love with her and choose love over his duty. We see that there are two sides to this situation. Roxley wishes he was free to marry Harriet, but he has to provide for his aunts, and keep those lands that have been in his family for generations. When he ends up being blackmailed, he knows he has little choice. Then we see a certain sub plot of danger and intrigue involving some diamonds, and the plot thickens, and the reader is then taken on a ride of passion, suspense and power of true love.
I found If Wishes Were Earls to be a truly captivating story that reeled me in from the prologue. Usually I have to force my way through the prologue sometimes, I just want to get to the story (LOL). But I have found that reading the prologue lends the reader to some background information needed to make sense of the rest of the story. When I first read the synopsis I wasn't sure if I would like it much, but the story was far different than what the Synopsis implied the story to be. So I was surprised by how much I enjoyed seeing the change of events and the way the Harriet and Roxley get on together. I couldn't complain much about the setting, I found it very delightful the connection the Roxley and Harry have with each other, even though its subtle at times and too obvious at other times. The one thing that I would complain about this story would be the multiple flashbacks, it could be a bit confusing at times. Other than the flashbacks, I truly enjoyed this story and I can hardly wait for the chance to read the rest of the series, and more from this author.
Overall I splendid romance with a touch of witty humor, a hint of passion and excitement, a plot thickened with drama and danger and intrigue that will tie you up in knots, and a love story to charm and entice. A DELICIOUS READ!!!

Lady Amelia's Mess And A Half is the second installment, and my first book to read from this author. In the last few months I have seen this author popping up more and more, so when I was at my local library, I decided to try this one out. The first one wasn't available, so I decided why not read this serious out of order, and hope I can read it as a stand alone, which you definitely can. Although now I do want to read the first one, since we see the couple from the first book involved a bit in this story. Lady Amelia's Mess and a Half is a story set in regency England, and is about second chances. Jake and Amelia once cared about each other, but certain circumstances made it so they couldn't be together. Now Amelia is a widow and available. Jake has a guarded heart, not knowing if he can trust it to Amelia again. I found this story to be a likable romance, however I had a very difficult time getting fully into the story. Even though I was able to read it quickly, I just wasn't able to fully entrench myself into it. I am not sure if it was just me or if its the style of the authors writing, but I did have it as a rating of 3.5 Blossoms, for a reason. Even though there was quite a few things I enjoyed about this story, it didn't sing to me in any spectacular way. Its a romance you can relax into, and enjoy on a quiet afternoon, but not something that will make it memorable necessarily. I do recommend this if you are looking for a simple and easy read. I did feel like everything in this story just fell into place, not much conflict really. I do plan on reading more of the series, just so I can see more of the family here. They definitely caught my attention. I am hoping that this might just be a fluke, and the other I will enjoy quite a bit more. Overall a fun and clever romance.
Winnie, the Duchess of Avendale, is a widow and thanks her blessings every day for that. Her late husband was abusive and brutal and cruel to her. The day he died was fortune for her, since he almost killed her the last time he was alive. It has been three peaceful years, being able to raise her son, even knowing the name he would bear would be Avendale. The one man she cares about more than anything, who has treated her with gentleness and care is William Graves. William is a Doctor, but he grew up as a grave robber, and ever since that day he became a part of Feagan and his band, his life changed. Now he is a respectable Doctor, who sees to the Queen's health. Graves has loved Winnie ever since he met her and treated her wounds and nursed her back from near death. He understands more than anyone the pain and fear she has suffered, but he hides a dreadful secret from her. He fears Winnie uncovering the truth that could rip apart the love they share, but will Winnie be able to overlook her fears and trust in William's love for her.
Lorraine Heath is a magical storyteller when it comes to historical romance. I was thrilled when I heard the exciting news that Graves would get his story. I have been waiting for it ever since I read the Scoundrel of St. James series (which if you have yet to read it, it needs to be bumped to the top of your TBR). I would have to say this is probably one of my favorite all time series. This is a novella, so its a short read, only a little over 100 pages. The hero is a doctor and a scoundrel (the perfect mix for a hero). Clever and sexy right? Well he is that and more, he has a dark past, but the way he treats Winnie is so precious and tender, you just want to cry at the poignancy of it all. Winnie isn't your typical heroine. She has come from a abusive relationship so she suffers from PTSD, and you see how strong she has become. She does fight her fears, and her safety net is William. I enjoyed seeing how she relies on him, but at the same time you see a inner strength that is very admirable. And by the end of the story, Winnie totally wins you over. We also see involvement of the other four couples from the previous books in the series, it made me want to re read this series. I just might do that and soon, anyone wanna join? LOL
Overall a quick but satisfying read that thrilled me to the toes. A impossible to put down romance that captures your attention from the very beginning. UNFORGETTABLE!!

Marked is the first in the Eternal Guardians. This is not the first time I have read from this author. Earlier last year, I was able to read Bound, and I was hooked into this series. I have been wanting to read the earlier books ever since, so I was very excited to get this through Audible. I love the idea of this series. I have always admired Greek mythology, and its so exciting to see a author mix it into her books as Naugton does with the Eternal Guardians. The Eternal Guardians are descendants of half breeds of the gods. They are chosen to protect and fight the demons that are growing in a large number. This was such a thrilling and exciting story, the suspense and adventure would just NOT stop, and I LOVED it!!! I was curious to see how this story would be on audio book, and I have to say I am going to get the rest of the series through Audible, I enjoyed it that much. The narrator was awesome, and I loved her variety of tones of voices of the characters. The story was such a roller coaster of romance and adventure. There was quite a conflict, well a BIG conflict, since the heroine is fated to die, but it definitely will shock you how the story turns out, it did for me. I was on tinder hooks, wondering how on earth this couple would ever manage a HEA, but I was left feeling fully satisfied by the end.
Overall I adored Marked. Such a wonderful romance, with a beautifully written mythology theme to it, that just grabs your attention and makes you never want to put this down. The relationship between Theron and Casey definitely was full of rocks, twists and turns, but yet there was such a intense feeling to it that leaves the reader breathless. A STELLAR ROMANCE!!!

Victor Cale was once betrayed by Isabella, his young sweet wife who he trusted with his life. So when he learns that her description fits the exact image of his wife, he knows he must head up to Edinburgh, and discover the truth. Isa believes that it is Victor who abandoned her. Isabella has always loved Victor, but years ago, her family coerced her into working for them, but she never stole the jewels Victor believed her to have stolen. Isa believes that Victor betrayed her, and then abandoned her and their daughter. Now ten years later, with a new life and changed identity, she has a place here in Edinburgh, until the husband that abandoned her shows up asking all sort of question and demanding explanations. Victor and Isabella will have to learn to let go of mistrusts and learn to trust in each other and the love they share to defeat the enemy that is just beyond their reach and could threaten their future and their daughter.
When The Rogue Returns is the second in the Dukes Men series. I was given a ARC of this title in return of a honest review through Edelweiss and Pocket Books. Now I have to say that after reading this I don't know which book in the series is my favorite, I feel like ripping my hair in frustration, how to choose? Well I think I am at a impasse! When The Rogue Returns was so amazing!!! I still can't believe how much I actually enjoyed this one. I really love the second chance themed romances, especially when Sabrina Jeffries is at the helm. This story was so romantic and sweet and suspenseful and plenty of steamy action to satisfy any romance lover. When The Rogue Returns is a story that begins with beginning glimpse of Isabella and Victor when they were newly married and young, and full of love not knowing what future awaited them or that they would be torn apart for ten years. Then it jumps ten years into the future, and you see both sides, and what each has suffered and struggled with over the past years. Secrets abound, and suspension rise when they see each other again. When they both eventually learn the truth of how they were both betrayed and lost ten years together, they join forces both in rediscovering each other and discovering the truth and finding a way to be together once again. This plot is definitely packed full of action and mystery and intrigue. I enjoyed the way the author seemed to put this story together in such a way that it enthralls the reader until you have finished the story and are left aching for more and more from this author.
There is quite a bit that goes on in this story, much more than I ever expected to find. We see a suspenseful portion to the story, a small side romance of a friend of Isa's, more involvement from Dom and others in the Duke's Men, and more history on Victor Cale. Even though this story takes place in Scotland, its in the Regency era, so you don't see too much of culture or countryside of Scotland or the irresistible brogue. It definitely has more of a regency theme to the story, however this would probably be one of my top favorite regency romances yet. This unique story is somewhat different than most other regency style romances, and I loved the ups and downs and unique flips this story takes on. Definitely can hardly wait until the third installment comes out.
Overall a thrilling paced romance that is going to drive you wild!! A love story that is tender and sweet, yet suspenseful and intense at times. A tale to give you a thrill and bring a few surprises to your doorstep. A hands down unforgettable story of betrayal, sacrifice, and love. REMARKABLY WRITTEN!!

Somebody To Love is the third installment in the Cupid Texas Series that is fairly new by Lori Wilde. I recently discovered this author, when I received a review copy of her first two books. The first two books in the series I fell in love with instantly. Somebody To Love however was a bit different, I had a bit of a harder time reading it. It didn't take very long, however I couldn't get fully into the story as I like to when I am reading a romance. I felt a little detached, and I am not sure if its just become I have a harder time liking contemporaries or if it was the actual story. It started out pretty good, I didn't have a difficult time starting up the story, but as it got toward the midway of the story, I felt like it started to drag a bit. But then as I trudged through the story, it picked up again.
There was a few aspects that I enjoyed about Somebody To Love. The first is the sweet love story that is prevalent through the story. I found that it starts off with Zoe and Jericho have no problem to connect, since they grew up together. In the beginning I felt these two were a bit frustrating, not wanting to admit to each other how much they love each other, and want more than friendship. A blind man could see what they are afraid of admitting to each other. Then when they do, their relationship gets put on hold because of Jericho's new job which he can't afford to lose. As the story progressed further, I enjoyed seeing the little twists and turns, and it definitely surprised me. There was a bit of a mystery/suspense aspect in the plot that made it more than just a simple love story. I always enjoy a love story when there is more to it than just that. I love a exciting conflict that gets you at the edge at times. I found the conflict in this story wasn't over done, although you don't really realize the conflict until toward the end and I will warn you it might shock you, but in a delightful way. The characters were fun and engaging, however Zoe I had a small issue with. I loved Jericho, very sensual but protective and I love the way he was toward Zoe, willing to sacrifice everything for her. However I felt Zoe was a bit blah, she didn't really dazzle me in any way, in fact I was a bit disappointed in this heroine. She was very independent, but I thought she was flaky at times, especially in the first half of the story. In the second half I started to enjoy her a bit more, but I didn't fall in love with her.
Overall I found Somebody To Love a lovely addition to the Cupid series by Lori Wilde. I felt like there could have been a bit more in the beginning of the story to really draw in the reader, but other than that I enjoyed Jericho and Zoe's story. There was quite a bit of sensuality, sweet moments, and charming plot to engage you in the story. Not entirely remarkable, but a enjoyable read on a lazy

Kirk has spent the past seven years mourning his wife and staying far away from society and manners. Now he feels he is ready to marry, and the one woman he wants is Dahlia Balfour. He knows that it won't be easy, considering she refused his proposal a short time previous, but he is determined. He knows that they would be a good match. So he goes to the Duchess of Roxburghe, and gains her help. For two months, they transform him into a gentleman (somewhat). When Dahlia sees Kirk again she is outraged and hurt and furious and lets him know it. Kirk knows he is in for a battle, and he will have to use every weapon available to him. Dahlia is still hurt from Kirk's past actions, especially in his dealings with her father. She finds him despicable and she once cared for him, but then he hurt her. Now when she sees him at the house part the Duchess is hosting, he has transformed into a man she doesn't recognize, until he speaks that is. A turbulent battle begins...but who will win and who will lose, and will the prize be true love?
How To Entice A Enchantress is the third installment in the Duchess Diaries, and even though I quite enjoyed this one, it was probably my least favorite. If I had to choose my favorite it would probably be the second one, which involved Dahlia's sister. However despite that, I really had a fun and jolly time reading this story. The main focus was Kirk trying to convince Dahlia to marry him. This story is all about second chances. From the beginning you see how right these two are for each other, if they just let differences be put aside. Kirk is very stubborn and prideful and a touch arrogant, and doesn't believe in love anymore. Dahlia is determined to find true love, after seeing her sisters find it, she only believes that she is worthy of it too. It was fun seeing these two clash against one another, and once they really kissed, all bets were off. There isn't a very strong plot line here or conflict much. Its the kind of story you can just sit back and enjoy and not stress too much about the events that are taking place. There is quite a bit of witty dialogue and cute scenes that engage the reader.
Overall a sweet yet enticing love story that has a certain magical charm that is perfect for any kind of reading time. A delightful romance that will make the reader go weak in the knees!! A SIMPLE PLEASURE!!!

When Marcus is sent on a mission to find a rogue by Lucian, you can hardly say no, especially to such a ancient vampire. I was able to obtain a copy of this ARC through Avon via Edelweiss. I am so glad I was able to read this. Vampire Most Wanted is the 20th in the series. Ever since I first discovered this author years ago, I fell in love with her writing and style. The way she has created this unique take on vampires, has always intrigued me. I love the science side of it. Vampire Most Wanted is a story that is full of secrets and intense emotion. I had no idea what to expect from Vampire Most Wanted, but by the end I knew I loved this one, and even though it leaves up some loose ends, I found this story to be heart wrenching and captivating. When you first start reading Vampire Most Wanted, it can be a bit confusing at first, since this is the first I have really heard anything about Basha. Or maybe I missed something on one of the previous books. Marcus is part of the Notte family, so I recognized him. I do love this family, and Marcus is just an amazing hero that steals your heart instantly. I love the faith he has in Basha, and is willing to do whatever it takes to stay by her side. I love the part that Lucian plays. Its so humorous to see how much fear he instills, when personally (he is my favorite, and is a teddy bear). But I enjoyed the setting-seeing into the life of a circus member. Very fascinating and the detail was vivid and very descriptive and makes you feel as if you need to join the circus just to experience it once.
The characters were lively and fun and dark at times. There is alot of information and past history we don't know until later in the story, so it keeps the reader on the edge in suspense. (But in the most delightful way) By the end you will have little to complain about, trust me on that one. There is two other couples we get to see involvement in, which is always fun to see. Basha is a very unique heroine. From the beginning you see how deep of a character she is. Basha is probably one of the older ancients, but the majority of her life spent in hiding. After you read this story, you heart is endeared completely to this heroine. At first I thought she was being too stubborn and prideful, when it came to running from her lifemate. But when you see what she has suffered in her lifetime, you understand and definitely are on her side. I loved the inner strength she portrays so well. Marcus is your typical lovely male hero, sexy, adventurous, willing to fight for the woman he loves--breathtaking man -love ya to pieces!! LOL
Overall a stellar romance that combines this unique world of ancients or vampires, intense intrigue, and a love story that will bring a tear to your eye. (You might need some tissues). A emotionally driven romance with action packed suspense, classic Sands wit, and a story line that captivates!!! A WINNER!!!
